Thank you Dan! that pw is very appropriate *sigh*

Phil's Guide to Room 4

Room 4:

use the magnifying glass

word 1:

the capital letters on the poster say something

this word is eight letters long

word 2:

left side of the room

word 3:

on the red button

word 4:

in the stone on the bottom right

now type them in the HS System

Power code:

name of button=Power

change it to numbers

Phil's Room 5 Guide:

Which sense do you need?

It's in braille (why don't you pull a Braille alphabet up in a different tab?)

The series of dots you need starts with an "A"

The Answer:

now level 23 is kicking my butt

i decoded the drips

(morse, right? help me, i am in a pipe)

and i can't seem to get any further. the roomz forums thread is talking about 9 worlds, i think there may be some reference to norse gods, but i haven't even found one stinking clue yet. i feel like i'm in the wrong level lol

Urban Garlic February 16, 2007 10:33 PM

I have a serious complaint about level 8, and the answer, for those with the same complaint.

The level answer is in the second spoiler block.

The first spoiler block only implicitly tells you what to do on the level.

Having to reset your system clock is too much to ask for a lot of people. On the Linux box I normally run things on (yes, even Flash toys), it runs ntp and continuously self-synchronizes. It's a bit of effort to shut that down, but I did it, and changed the clock, and roomz didn't detect it.
On Win2K, I normally browse in a low-privilege user account, as an extra layer of defense against malware. This account can't change the clock, and I can't just open an administrator session as in OS/X or Unix-like systems -- I have to run the whole session, browser and flash game, as administrator.
This means my browser is running as adminstrator, which I really, really don't like to do (except for Windows Updates, of course...). I confess, I actually wondered if this was a ploy to get malware on to my system through some previously unknown SWF/Flash vulnerability. Luckily for me, none of my systems needs to synchronize with a file server or network time source, so I was able to switch to administrator and change the time.
No malware snuck in, as far as I can tell.
But I shouldn't have had to do that. This is akin to asking me to open a firewall port or use alternate DNS or something. Games really, really, really shouldn't do this.

The magic word is...

Frankly, I'm kind of disappointed in JayIs and the posters here. When we started playing the game on Nordinho, the authors requested that we not give away too much, not make things "too spoily." We abided by that request. But here on JayIs, level codes are simply being handed out. :(

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 5:35 AM

thankyou tazzman, and i agree with christine, poeple should give hints, not the actul words, i managed to do room 10 with some hints, but no one told me the answer x

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 5:53 AM

can someone give me a hand with room 11

is her name

case thats what i found and it doesnt work :|

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 5:53 AM

can someone give me a hand with room 11

is her name

case thats what i found and it doesnt work :|

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 5:54 AM

oh dont worry, found out her other name!!

this is going to sound lame, but i'm stuck in room two.

i can get one note by putting in "bricks", and i can see the letters on the bricks, but i don't know what to do.

maybe i'm just too tired.

atomi-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 6:36 AM

XD i did number 12 by myself alright :X

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 6:52 AM

okay im on 13, ive managed to get one clue

but im not sure what to do with it.. any hints? x

i agree with christine that the passwords should not be just handed out. i have spent a lot of frustrating time figuring out these levels, and there may have been times that i wished i could just get the code and move on (*coughlevel17cough*). regardless of that, it really makes these games pointless when the answers are given like that.

though i don't blame jayis, it might be a good idea to delete those posts. for the sake of the puzzle :)

For level 23,

Use the first word of the morse sentence in the HS system

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 8:03 AM

teresina try rearanging the letters you have.

any help on how to even start room 13? x

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 9:28 AM

i have no idea what to do. help!

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 10:15 AM

okay im getting quite desperate now i think i might cry

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 10:34 AM

whaey got the wall to

its secrets XD

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 11:48 AM

im out of 13 XD

I agree with Urban Garlic. I was not happy about resetting my pc so many times. The rooms that might require simple google hints or going to another site are alright, even fun, however I dont like changing my computer settings.

I know I am going to run into trouble in the higher number rooms, as my math skills are seriously lacking, however, as long as I can rely on decent hints, I might possibly prevail. Many thanks to Ronaynay for the hints. If anyone has been to the game forum, then you know spoilers are forbidden there. I found it (the forum) to be not all that helpful to those asking for a simple hint. Personally I have trouble finding the right wording to ask the HS for a message/hint. Its very disgruntling to have to type the correct word before getting a nudge in the right direction. Ah well, I shall plod onward.

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 12:34 PM

can someone give me a hand with 15! so far i have 3 notes

and the Binary clue

can someone give me a lead, i realise it has somthing to do with deciphering or w/e but any hints?

level 10:

i put in HS:

"constellation","zodiac", "four stars" and "name it"

i have 4 stars united by lines. now?

and that eyes?

level 9:

Important note to Jay, or whoever can edit the original post. also a spoiler for later level.

you should edit the link so that when you click on the picture, the game opens in a new window/tab with an address bar. it's necessary later on, making an already difficult solution almost impossible because it's totally counterintuitive. thanks

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:00 PM

Marcela do what it tells you to do

name it

if you are stuck after this let me know

For level 11, i have the picture, and i think it's name is

Blind Justice

but apparantly it's not... what do i search for?

Reply and I seem to be in the same spot. I cant seem to find word to convert to binary that will end up sensible and less than 16-18 letters. I thought the word was "FIRST" but was I was wrong. Small hint anyone?

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:07 PM

can i have a hand on 15? x

erm, oops

or maybe you need both. nevermind...

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:11 PM

emdf the lady has a name! a real name search for that

bj. i know i have to convert to binary, but im stuck on how to go about it!! x

divy - done. thanks for the note.

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:27 PM

arg i'm baffled on the binary converting

really, truley baffled

Atomic...I find that google

alphabet in binary code

will help, if you have the right word...which I dont, lol.

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:37 PM

oh thanks lol. i was searching the wrong thing!

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:38 PM

what do we actually have to when weve found what word we are converting? lol this just occurd to me >

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 2:53 PM

is it just m, or does anyone else find the roomz forum oh so unhelpful?

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 3:07 PM

If you would care to scroll up, I said almost the same thing about the forum. In any case, I've finished the room 15. You must use your converted word against the grid of letters..remembering to ignore the purple and all of the 0's. Hope this helps

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 3:11 PM

so you did! sorry >.<

what word do i convert? or is to obvious. if so give me a hint?

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 3:26 PM

but surley i only need one letter for it to work? oh i dont know

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 3:38 PM

i dont think im gonna be able to complete level 15. its really baffled me!! >>>>

No,no ...dont give up. read the first letter of each sentence going down..that is the word to convert. After converting EACH letter of the word.. compare the 8 digit code for each letter against each sentence.Example:

B=01000010 mentally lay this on top of the first sentence...remember to ignore anything in the blue area and all of the 0's. your first two letters will be M and U. Continue with the letter I=01001001 on the next sentence.

I know you can do it!!!

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 4:09 PM

oh i understand! i didnt think about using that word! thanks bj! onto the ext level now :| x

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 4:29 PM

bj have you done 15?

atomic-in-the-blood February 17, 2007 4:29 PM

* 16 sorry

Trying on 16 now,lol....fiddling with those lights...have mercy, the combinations are endless, but I do have the power on. Need a hint?

I'm on 16 at the moment.

I've got the power on and sorted the lights out.

I've found the bit of paper with the hidden numbers on it too. But I just can't figureout what to do with them.

I dont suppose you remember the light sequence do you DarcBlue?

light sequence is

Green, Red, Green, Green, Red

LEVEL 8: you do NOT need to reset your computer's time. The "hour" light changes if you make the "minute" light go all the way around.

Thank you so much. There is my mistake..I thought ALL lights had to be on in a certain squence. OK..lets look at these numbers

I got has to do with a graph

atomic! i know thats

southern cross crux (or not?)

i put in HSs but... nothing!

Blue_Blazer February 17, 2007 11:26 PM

I need help on level 6

after you use the spell on the notes

I can't figure out the + and - note. Please help, I'm tearing my hair out! =(

Josh Armstrong February 17, 2007 11:55 PM

So the slider between the HSS and the mag glass changes the magnification, for anyone who can't get their glass to work.

Meanwhile, I'm STILL stuck on 1 >

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 6:27 AM

on 16 how do i get the note?

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 6:41 AM

okay got the note, and lit the box....what to do now :|

I'm at that same point. Have go the power working and lights lit up and got the note but still can't figure what to do with the numbers.

Have been trying all sorts of different things with them since yesterday afternoon but just can't figure it.

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 8:58 AM

yea, have you seen the "clue" n the paper. [not much help]

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 9:00 AM

Marcelo. no its not that! use the clues you have already

if you still stck let me know again

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 10:02 AM

stuck on 16, any help?

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 10:22 AM

Stuck on level twenty now, but I feel like I'm very close. Here's what I know.

HS system:

I can get nothing out of the HS system.

I know which background goes with which level, and so I have a number for the levels, except 4, 5, 8, 12, 15, and 18, whose backgrounds are not in the picture.

I can get a sequence of letters by, for each level, taking the letter from that level's exit code corresponding to the number on that level's background in the picture in level 20.

I have noticed that the "locker" displays a different letter than you click. This makes a mapping from letters to letters, which can be applied to the sequence I got before, either forward or reverse. Now I get TDQ RA ZAM LX IM L, or IZE RA NAS BJ TS B.

My question:

good morning....Atomic and DarcBlue....On level 16, the numbers have to be put into a graph. The small numbers at the corner of the page tell you how to do it

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 10:39 AM

OK, got level twenty right after posting, of course. I wonder if writing it out forces you to use another part of your brain or something.

I was on the right track, the letters I got go in the order of the background picture.

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 11:03 AM

MsRenee84 -- thanks for the tip, you are obviously cleverer than I regarding level 8.

I withdraw my complaint against level 8.

Never occurred to me to try the cursor keys until after your note.

hoooo boy..level 20 was a doozy

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 11:40 AM

number 17 is scary =[[

what do i do? ive found the date, thats it though

level 21 will be the death of me.

Atomic..have you found the initials? a very popular comic in the 20's;)

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 1:55 PM

yep found them XD and a comic????? helps please bj...

B.K.= Buster of his most popular Movies has to do with a "forum". :-)

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 2:03 PM

OK, stuck on 21 now -- hey BJ, you got any clues?

I have assembled the message from the rotating pieces of paper, and typed the answer into the HS system. The answer is ...

"circle", and it gets you another note with some scrambled words on it. That's where I'm stuck now.

Good heavens..level 21 is not nice. My 8 letter password is gibberish. Roman numerials are not my forte. hint, please

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 2:08 PM

im out

oh how i love wikipedia wooopdedoop

OK....I'm through the door...finally. Level 22 is waiting

atomic-in-the-blood February 18, 2007 2:34 PM

LEVEL 18 wth do i have to do...can someone give me a really obvious hint :D

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 2:46 PM

Hey BJ, can you throw us a bone? I'm still stuck where I said before (from 2:03, yeesh...). Is there another note?

Atomic --

There are hints for lvl 18 in the older messages, I needed lots of help there.

Most useful: (multiple nested spoilers coming up...)

Each picture has a name -- when you type the name into the HS system, the picture responds. Figure out all the names.

The names form a chain, starting from the arrow. Each name has a relationship to the next name in the sequence.

Each name starts with the last letter of the previous name. String together all these "joining" letters to get another clue, and put that in the HS system.

Urban Garlic...remember to translate the letters into those numbers look familiar?

Atomic...use the word "morse" in your HS.

Urban Garlic February 18, 2007 3:16 PM

BJ -- thanks, your hint was crucial.

And me a physics geek, missed that.

ellenisprincess February 18, 2007 4:14 PM

level 22 anyone? I'm so confused

Josh Armstrong February 18, 2007 5:06 PM

What do I do after I balance the scales on 11? The HSS or keypad won't do anything with the guesses I'm putting in...

The picture seems to be of justice, but nothing of the sort works.

I need help on Level 17. Here's what I have:

buster keaton

forum (from " a funny thing")

I think it wants

a particular on line forum, maybe the one for roomz

But i can't figure it out !!

i search in google: "zodiac four star constellation" so i can "name it" is that good?

atomic! ive done it! thanks for the help!

level 10 quickpass: starlight.

level 11:

how do you balance the cubes?

marcelo: this is mostly a trial and error puzzle, but a hint would be to try to align the top of the weights, not the bottom. Good Luck

atomic-in-the-blood February 19, 2007 1:03 PM

your welcome marcelo :D

thankyou Garlic and BJ :D

atomic-in-the-blood February 19, 2007 1:16 PM

help, ive got the word from m**** c*** and got the note....but it didnt help :|

atomic-in-the-blood February 19, 2007 1:24 PM

okay who knows what eats flys?

I'm still stumped on lvl 16...

How in the world do i put the numbers into a graph? I even see the "clue" in the corner and i still don't get it

Any help is much appreciated =]

atomic-in-the-blood February 19, 2007 1:38 PM

you need to make a graph 5 x 25 as it tells you in the corner

you will notice there is 5 lines of numbers

use them as co-ordinates

for example the first one you would plot at row space 1,2

[line 1]
[number 2]

"I think it wants
a particular on line forum, maybe the one for roomz"
Yes, that is exactly what it wants :) look around for a funny thing ;)

Now if anyone can help on level 25, I would greatly appreciate it. I have the first note, but I don't know where to start with it, and I haven't deciphered the note on the wall either. And now there are new rooms up too! I'm never going to finish this, am I?

atomic-in-the-blood February 19, 2007 1:46 PM

divy....what eats flies....?

might be better to think about what catches flies.

level 23

I'm almost positive I have

decoded the drips

However nothing else seems to work. Any suggestions?

Urban Garlic February 19, 2007 3:09 PM

Stuck on 23 also.

Decoding the drips is the first step.

The next step is to do what the poor fellow asks.

This one took me a while.
You have to type "help" into the HS system.
I wasted a lot of time on variations, "help him", "help pipe", etc, but didn't think of the easy thing.

I'm stuck at a later step...

I decoded the runes, and typed in the name of the one they describe.

And I found, which uses the odd spelling "Odhinn", and I know the names of the nine worlds, but I can't figure out which four have "a secret".

urban garlic, have you looked at your clues closely? really really closely?

and be sure to use the info from

futhark, because other sites have entirely different spellings.

Atomic, I still don't get it. I even asked my friend to help me with the clues and all, but even she doesn't get it either =[ Am I just stupid? I need some more guidance

Urban Garlic February 19, 2007 4:30 PM

Divy -- still stuck.

I am using the spellings.

Exactly four world names have the letter 's', and exactly four have the letter 'l'. Exactly four have the string "heimr". Not the same four in any of the three cases, of course. I can't make a sensible word out of heimrls, so I guess this is perhaps the wrong track?
