I read your post about the blue star fish that makes you a master in a skill. Well, this morning when I logged onto VV3 I had one of those messages popping up that one of my males; obi found a pretty blue star fish along the beach shore. When I selected pick it up it pricked his finger and allowed him to become a master in the selected skill at the time. (which I had checked as building when he found it)

Hello pineapple and others. I really appreciate that you've shared this advice, but I'm wondering.. if you don't mind, to create the shark solution, do the recipies HAVE to be in order? (Rose+Rose+6th herb [magic]).

Please answer as soon as possable

So, I've looked at all the things on here and no one's mentioned the giant clam in the walk through?

I would like to know what the deal is with it. what part does it play in the game other than snapping at your villagers when you hover them above it?

thanks.

Thanks Macy!

Wow it's been a while since I posted...

Anyways, on my second tribe, I worked on getting level 2 faction ASAP. So I got it, and slowly my master farmers turned to elders fishing. I left my game for a day and when I came back, everybody was dead because nobody was smart enough to realize that all they had to do was fish and they wouldn't die!!! I was so annoyed!!! Normally, SOMEBODY takes the initiative to survive!

Reply
Virtually Addicted June 18, 2009 3:02 PM

By the way, if you're running low on food, I found a simple, yet sometimes frustrating solution that always works!!!

Once your chief has made magic food, then pause the game and leave it alone for 24 hours. You can then make more magic food without having to worry about your villagers starving! The drawbacks are not being able to do anything in the time you are not on, and it will make earning tech points and training villagers a pain! But, you gotta do what you gotta do!

I got my statue to the top of the path in front of the tiger lily, the chief walked away and now nodody will work on it again. I tried redownloading and that didn't help, is there something else to do to get them back to working on the statue?

Reply

To ?:

If you downloaded the most current version, just try flying your chief over the statue until you see a spot where it says he can start directing work again. Sometimes they just get distracted and have to be put back. Once the chief is directing work, you can put the builders back on.

What is the purpose of the trance?

Reply

To all:

If you need some more tech points becuase your scientist is to slow, find a collectable (the rarer the better) and if you have more than one child, pause the game, drop first child on it, un pause then pause it again quickly, put another child on it, then unpause. You will now have 2 of the same collectable.

Same with food, just find mushrooms instead. If you have more than 2 children, then you can get more tech points and more food.

Hope this helps!

Have your builders repair the things that are already built. It will take awhile.

The VV3 website stated there are more ways to gain parenting skill than by makin' babies. Any suggestions? (I know that when they're older you can drop them onto each other without more kids being made.)

Reply

Another way is to drop an adult(other than the chief) on any random kid under 14. The adult and kid will run to the auditorium and the adult will tell a story. This helps gain parenting skill.

1.Go to the main menu.
2.Click 'Options'.
3.One of the options is 'Speed'.
4.To the right of 'Speed', click 'Slow'.
5. You can leave it like this, if you have a good food source that some of your adult villagers are scavenging from, and the rest of them researching, for up to 1 and a half days.
PLEASE HAVE FUN WITH ALL THE TECH POINTS THAT YOU HAVE WHEN YOU'RE FINISHED!!!

Reply

Bethany -

The more people you have working in the lab, the faster the tech points will rack up. Also, picking up every collectible you see is useful. Once it is in your collection, duplicates of the same item are worth tech points, with the rare items being worth 1500 tech points.

Are the people who are refusing to collect the fruit farmers? Or are you trying to train them to be farmers? Check that farming is checked in their details. Also check their details for dislikes of fruit or plants. If they have those particular dislikes they won't harvest. You may have to find someone else to train up to be a farmer.

As for the fire:

You are not going to get the diamond until the fire runs continuously for a couple of days. That means you need to keep putting wood on it before it goes out. After a couple of days you will notice white sparks coming out of the fire. When it does that you can put the fire out and collect the diamond.

A villager who "dislikes work" will be difficult to train, especially as a farmer or a builder. Best to try and train them as a scientist or a doctor, but they won't work as hard as the other villagers.

If you really want to get construction and work done without using up time on the free demo, or other things, here's an idea:

Try leaving your game on speed 'Fast' for an hour or 2, then open up the game again and hopefully (rarely never) they'll be finished and onto another thing.

If by making the quickest money you mean tech points, then the answer is to put as many people on research as possible.

Is your person "Esteemed Elder" or "Elderly"? In neither case will they stop working. However, if they are "Elderly" this means they are old and they will slow down significantly.

Some reasons that the potion you were making blew up are:

a).You need to collect the ingredients in a different order.
b).The villager you are using may not be trained enough (and I highly doubt that)
OR
c).You already used the potion too much so you can't use it anymore (and I highly doubt that as well)

Need some help July 13, 2009 5:01 PM

I have tried everything I could find in almost any walkthrough to start the statue. I have level 3 restoration, level 3 leadership and many many master builders. I also have a chief. I have the plans written on the board and many characters will say they see a good place to anchor the statue. No matter which way I drop them, no one will start the scaffold. PLEASE help me. What am I missing? Do I need level 3 nature? Or anything else other than what I specified?
Your help will be much appreciated

Reply

To Need Some Help:

You need a Master Builder to build the scaffolding after the plans are drawn. There's a spot about halfway up the path to the right of the statue that says it's good for the scaffolding. Drop the Master Builder on that spot and he/she should build it.

Reply

I appreciate the first reply. I have been using master builders, in fact I use builders who are maxxed out and elders and the closest I got was at one time a guy started to build scaffolding then he just quit. I cant get anyone to build the rest of it, nor build on it.
I am working on my second chief trying to get this. Far as I know i have everything stated that is required. I have spent almost 2 days just trying to get the builders to do this. If you could send a screen shot, or perhaps find something Im missing? These are the steps I take.

I fly the master builder along the path up to the door until they say they see a good place to anchor the statue, I then move that same master builder to the spot you mentioned, about half way down and they immediately want to do something else.

Im going crazy trying to get them to do this job. Please help before I lose ALL my hair :)

Thanks a Million

Is there a little scaffold built on the broken part of the upright statue? If so, try this: drop your chief on the part of the statue that is laying on the ground and see if he/she starts directing work. If he/she does, start dropping builders on that part of the statue that is on the ground.

When they build the scaffold it doesn't take very long. After that the statue is ready to go, you just need to drop people on it (chief first). Not halfway up the path where the scaffold is but on the piece laying flat on the ground.

Let me know if this works.

I dont know how to make or send video or I would show you :P I just cant for the life of me get them to continue. When I drop a master builder, it again says he knows where to anchor the statue, do I have to anchor it twice?

Wilzyt -

Place the chief on that overlook by the door at the top of the walkway (normally you see the chief standing there sometimes looking at the tribe). If you have level 3 leadership then the chief will spin around and point to a rare object. You then need to quickly look around the landscape to find it and collect it with a child.

Three trees is the limit. Any fruit collected after that will just go into the food bin.

If you have solved all 16 of the puzzles, then technically yes. However, you can keep your village going indefinitely as long as you check back every now and then to make sure they are reproducing. You can also do things like try to fill in the collections and collect the trophies. The game never really ends unless everybody dies.

Here is a big help that let me beat VV3 in 1 1 afternoon. I call it "Time Controle" (TC):

I have 100 people, all huts, all puzzles unlocked and most awards. All that is left is the collections (Boring) and 4 more awards.

Time Controle Process (TC)- Turning off the game, changing the time on your computer. Instead of waiting an hr, change time on your computer up an hr or more ^^.

Get to know how to change your computer time because you will have to do this a lot. (YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF TEH GAME INORDER FOR TIME SKIP TO OCCURE!)

When you 1st start your village, find the chief, and make magic food. Chief can be children as well. Pause the game, instead of waiting 24 hrs, change the computer clock. For windows, it should be in your little bar thing at teh bottom of your screen.

Keep doing that process untill you are ocmfortable with the food. When you are comfortable, plant that seed near the broken lift and set your males to research, and females to make babies (Oh yeah!18-49 only.) Dont forget to make your chief direct the work because people will wander off unless you do so. Turn off the game, skip an about an hr or so.Depending on your food. 100 - 200 food supports 8 people for an hr.

Continue to have women make babies and guys do reasearch. Once women reach age 50, make em research.

Here is your choice at this point, Get your lvl 1 faction, lvl 2 restoration, or lvl 2 science.

With lvl 1 faction, or lvl 2 science, continue what you were doing until you get more tech points. (Danger in this is that you could run out of food. Or just make more magic food.)

With lvl 2 restoration send some males and 14-17 girls to build a hut and become adept builders. Set the Chief to direct the work and TC about an hr or 2. Come back and they may be adept builders. Set those adept builders to build that lift. Afterwards, send them back to researching. When you get enough points for faction 2, get it, fix the alch lab and make that shark cure potion.

Now fish until the oceans are empty!!! Lol. I think this should get you on your feet. Continue the game as you please. You now have all the food you need. Remember to let your women have babies and men do the work.

Also, to solve the sundail puzzle, because i didnt see it on the walk through, set the disk to the 9:00 position, then wait a bit. Story pops up saying how 2 nature factions got married instead of 1 magic 1 nature... bla bla bla. I skipped the story.

Good luck.
Sereh Xia

[Edit: We do not condone the changing of your computer clock to play these games as it can cause you to lose everything very easily. Do it at your own risk. -Jay]
