I've you've got the most current version that fixes the bug, the best I can suggest is that you look very carefully for the spot where your chief can start directing work again. Sometimes it's along the path and sometimes it's near the base of the statue.
A virtual year is 2 hours on 2x speed.
Yes, the rubble has a purpose more than gaining building skill. :)
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
[Edit: Thanks for your nice words, but please do not provide links to your website inside the post. Thanks, Kayleigh]
I had my villagers start removing the rubble/rocks in the bottom near the bath and after the first percentage was removed, I started getting tablets, quickly.
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, but after I cleared out all the rubble/rocks and found the hole, the Tablet pieces seem to have stopped showing up.
I don't know if this questioned was answered or if this should be 'spoiler' viewed, sorry if it is though. (Please tell me if it is though and where.)
The tablet pieces will continue to show up, but at a much slower rate. You just need to check frequently. Once I got my rubble cleared it took me several days to complete the collection.
Hi, i've just started with this game yesterday and don't seem to be doing very well. My villagers just starve as the honey runs out very quickly. You say something about planting a seed, but it's stopped appearing on my new tribes...?
When you start a new game a seed should always be sitting over in the orchard area, near the shoreline. You can plant that one seed for extra food. Other than the tree and the honey, you need to work quickly to get level 2 building technology (and 3 adept builders) to repair the lift over in the orchard area. Once the lift is repaired you can use it to harvest more seeds to plant more trees.
For some reason, my builders stopped gaining more experience.
Right now most of them are stuck at 'Adept Builder', I have nothing more to build except the statue, but I require a Master Builder for that.
I've tried having them 'fix' the already-built huts, even though it says they gained more experience, the bar never moves or their name.
Will I have to restart the entire game to fix this or is there something else I can try?
[Edit: It takes a very long time, but they do eventually gain building experience by repairing huts. -Pam]
Sigh. I got bored after beating VV2 in an afternoon and left the game for a week and I only have 14 people alive out of 100. A ton of food, and a ton of Tech Points.
If this game was a online game, I would so sell.
I spend my days dressing my villagers in all black and making them... do whatever they want. They should have allowed you to travel the island to explore more. At least return to the old village from VV2 and say "Hey guys we are prosperous and bountiful. Come live over here!"
Good game, should of had more.
BTW finding a chief out of 100 people... takes forever.
Here is a hint to help:
The trick to allow 2 kids is relatively used in this as well. PAUSE! Drag your villagers to the general area then unpause. All the villagers no matter the amount will all try on the robe in unison. Looks like a big mess really. But in the end, they all will start to celebrate then out of the crowd, you will see a chief eventually. REMEMBER. CHILDREN CAN BE CHIEFS AS WELL. Mothering women can also be a chief, but you have to wait until the baby is running around by itself.
If you drag your chief onto the food bin he will 'create magic food' which means more food will come.
how will i get the berry bush
To get the berry bush you need to buy the level 2 faction of magic. If you have already started going down the path of the nature faction, level 2 will get you a pitcher plant.
I fast forwarded time for a day. And I just started playing virtual villager 3. So I haven't completed the lift and the puzzles after it. And now I'm left with two villagers. The cheif who right now is useless since he can't grant food. And his daughter who is 10. And were out of food. I'm afraid there both gonna die. I keep trying to find mushrooms. How much food should i have to make sure they both won't die. Untill the daughter turns old enough to work. And btw how old does the daughter have to be to work? Also can the daughter have a baby with the dad. Its the only way that i can think of to rebuild the tribe. I really don't want to start over.
[Edit: We strongly advise against changing your computer clock to advance the time in the game. Not only will it ruin your game, but it will also mess up other functions on your computer that rely on the clock. -Pam]
I keep getting female babies, only every eighth or so is male, what am I doing wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong. The gender of the babies is random and sometimes you only get one or the other. Just make sure you make as many babies as you can so that the tribe will continue to thrive.
The daughter can collect mushrooms to help feed them. She'll be able to work at age 14. The chief can grant magic food every 24 hours, unless the game was completely fouled from changing your computer clock. And yes, they will be able to have babies. Family relationships are not recognized in the game once adulthood is reached.
The events that appear in the game (that orange screen with a story and junk), they only appear in easy mode? Because I'm in hard mode, had over 300+ people born and die since I started the game, I have tons of food and tech points, all puzzles done, most awards and collections, but I didn't get one event since I started. Did something go wrong?
My tribe is alive and prospers :-)
But I wonder about the debris in the lab. Does it clear up when I upgrade my tech level or do I have to make somebody do it? I tried a master builder but it didn't help...
Has anyone else noticed that there is often a chiming noise that seems to be connected with the appearance of collectibles? Or am I just imagining things?
I'm up to moving the statue to the top of the hill. I only have 1 master builder and he is old. What happens if there are no more builders left?
Also I have completed most of the puzzles (except the statue, making the third key, and the last puzzle).
The debris in the alchemy lab will disappear when you purchase level 3 Science.
The chimes have been a point of debate for a long time. Some say it's related to the collectibles and others say it's not. Personally, I tend to find collectibles when I hear the chimes. :D
If you run out of builders before the statue is completed, you'll have to train some more by repairing huts. It takes a long time, but they do gain building experience on it. They only have to be Trainee Builders to be able to work on the statue, so you won't have to train them all the way to Master status.
What do I have to do to get a second chief? First one died and I can't get another one!
[Edit: You can find help for this in the Walkthrough Guide located at the top of this page. -Pam]
How do you get the seeds for the 3 fruit plants?
To Jonathan Fung:
Please check question #2 in the FAQ section of the walkthrough guide located at the top of this page.
Hi, I have no problems with the game. However, I want to know if your tribal chief can gain parenting skill.
Umm... I don't know what are they talking about the "lift". Where is that?
My villagers starved while I tried to get points for faction. All the men died. Will the game give me a random guest so I can make some more babies? I ask because I remember in the last game sometimes people would wash up on shore...
The chief can be a parent, but I don't think any of the skill bars actually increase once he/she becomes chief.
The lift looks sort of like a seesaw. It's under the tree on the right side of your screen.
This game is like the others in that regard. You can get new villagers and barrels of babies as random island events.
OH!! ohhhhh Guess What? I had a guy randomly apear on the beach -chuckles darkly- let's just say he want from Adept Builder to Adept Parent in less than an hour and had 3 kids with people who are age 18 and 19. He was 29. LOL
This site has really been a great help! Thanks to all.
Something that might help when you get low on food...you can drop 2 or 3 or maybe more children on mushrooms and collections (if you are fast enough) and each child will grab a mushroom or collection. If you are low on food this really helps, especially the orange mushrooms. Also, the double collections adds lots of tech points. Hope this helps.
Can you have a population of over 105??
I just can't seem to find the rare collection when the chief points it out. Any suggestions??
Hey, I just found out that if you have a chief who is under age 14, the chief can do alchemy. Much faster.
where are the things like the two bowls and the spoons
Are you talking about the equipment to rebuild the alchemy lab? It shows up in random places each time you start a new game.
all but 4 people died in my tribe,1 girl 3 boys.your like well you have a girl but my girl is 61!!! help please!!
Unfortunately, you need a female under the age of 50 to keep the village going. Unless a miracle happens and you get the random event that involves a barrel of babies or villagers from the other side of the island arriving on a raft, then your village is doomed.
my apprentise scientist is a child of 12...what do I do till she is 14? The other one became chief...Also how many trees can you plant and if no one picks the fruit off does it go bad until someone does pick it off? Thanks...Love the game...
Half of my villagers were swept away by a big wave while picking up fish! Can I get them back?? Will they find there way back?? :(
Help! Half of my villagers were swept away by a wave while gathering fish. Do they come back? Can I get them back? I only have 2 adults!!
If the child is listed as an apprentice scientist, that just means she already has a head start on scientific knowledge. She still will not work until she's 14. When she turns 14, however, she should head right to the science lab and start working.
As for the orchard, you can have up to 3 trees. The fruit does not go bad if not picked.
If they were swept away, they are dead and are not coming back. This is a random event that sometimes happens. Do you have both male and female villagers left? All you can do is wait for the kids to grow up for more adults, unless you get the random event where an adult shows up from the other side of the island.
I just can't get anyone to get the pink jeweled key! I bought alchemy tech, had them drink the potion and all they do is hop under it while never reaching it! Am I missing something??
You may be placing them in the wrong spot. Have you tried placing them in different places underneath the pink gem?
Can you stand another question :)
I have an adept parent that is 51 but I can't get her to have anymore babies... I still get the "kissy" sound, but the population number never goes up.... The other adult female is 43 and still has babies just fine.. Do they get too old to have babies? When?
As in real life, they do indeed get too old to have babies. Around the age of 50, women will no longer be able to conceive. There are a few reports from people who have seen babies as late as 53, but in general the cut-off is 50.
I have 7 million points and 1 million food and everything EXCEPT the one piece of coral. I have done this in two villages and it feels like the game is not complete unless I have all the collections as well!
I found another way to get food...I don't think this is a spoiler because you use the lift to do it after the orchard is built....
If you put someone on the lift when it rains, they will still go up to the tree and a "seed" will fall down...But when it gets picked up, instead of planting it the villager takes it to the food bin...You get between 50 & 100 food points....
This is nifty because when the trees are bare and the honey is empty - but you can't fish yet - and there just aren't any mushrooms popping up, you can have the village do the rain dance and at least get something :)
Need help! Cannot find all the pots for the alchemy lab! Any suggestions?
Love the game...Getting better at it...I just wondered where you find puzzle 8 spoiler??
You will find the puzzle 8 spoiler in the walkthrough under the section "Once Your Village is Running."
I've got my statue up to the top of the path, and now I can't get my tribal chief to get it building again. So I decided to redownload the new version but I can't find one for my computer (mac) and on a website it said that macs don't have that problem... but I do. What do I do?
Oh and I make my chief 'point out rare collectable' but nothing seems to happen. What is meant to happen?
I have science, medication, leadership and faction at lvl 1 and alchemy and restoration at lvl 2.
I have a master scientist and when I try to make potions I can't seem to get the desired potions despite following the list of potions. There was a spoiler that mentioned the color of the alchemy smoke and every potion made comes up as bad. Any suggestions?
Have you tried dropping the chief at the bottom of the path? That sometimes works. As for the chief pointing out collectibles, what happens is when he/she does that, a rare collectible appears, you just have to find it quickly.
Are you sure you are identifying the plants correctly? Is the smoke coming up green?
The smoke is coming up green. I am pretty sure I am identifying the plants correctly but I will double check.
Green smoke indicates that you are creating a potion that will make someone sick. What potion are you trying to create?
I have a Master builder and I have Restoration Level 2. I build the bath, and the chalkboard is clear. But my master builders refuse to drawn a plan for the statue
What do i do now??
To draw the plans for the statue, you need Restoration Level 3. When you get it, you can draw the plans and also put in the anchor point, both using your master builder.
Wow! I didn't know you could...
Build a clothes shed!
I put it in a spoiler just in case. Anyway, my question is, since my builders are always building 'small huts' I was wondering if it was possible to build a big hut?
I have done all of the puzzles and met those ghosts. Is there anything else to do that isn't shown?
Joe, I was wondering the same thing!
I have spent a half a day trying to get someone to work on the statue to no avail. Help please...
JIGuest - See the hint-through solution for Puzzle #9 above.
Is there anyway to actually finish the game aside from solving all 16 puzzle, collecting rare stuffs and get all the award?
hi,i have put three farmers, but there are no rain why???
I just started a new game and had the kids try on the tribal chief's robe. Now I have a 3 year old chief! LOL
i need help i dont have any kids and all my people are elders what should i do
ernie - having kids
Please have look at the walkthrough on top of the comments to find the needed help. If you have any further questions, please let us know and we will be glad to help you
To reconstruct the alchemy lab, do I have to collect the "jars" in a certain order? I have re-started my game three times now and after collecting all of the jars, only the table is fixed not the whole lab. Needless to say I am getting very frustrated. Can anyone help me with this?
how do you use the lift? ive already repaired it
To reconstruct the alchemy lab you are looking for 3 jars, a mortar and pestle, and a stick with feathers on it. The stick is the hardest to see and find, that may be what the problem is. Five objects in all.
To use the lift you need to wait for rain. Once it begins to rain grab the nearest adult and stand them on the platform side of the lift. As it rains the bucket will fill and the person will be lifted up towards the tree branches. Eventually, a seed will fall down. You can then pick up your person off of the lift and drop them on the seed.
Love boy -
For the rain dance to work you need a chief, three farmers with advanced skills, and level 2 leadership. It won't work without level 2 leadership.
can someone please help me on how to get never ending honey? if anyone knows please reply to me or call me at 714 561-2076 please i need that!!!
I by accident dragged a master builder to the plans board, and they drew the plans for the bath again. But I already completed the bath puzzle and now the plans won't go away. What do I do?
Now i can't fix the statute. The builder refuses to draw the plans for it.
I have tried the potion to make them light and springy but it doesn't work and I need to get the pink gem and yes I am dragging the right plants! Please tell me if I am doing something wrong.
i love how there are a chain of games all related to isola
I know of a way to get a decent amount of food without touching the honey.... but it takes at least a few days, and if this was said already sorry
If you pause the game for a day you can come back the next day and the chief will create magic food, then when he/she is done pause the game and wait another 24 hours and drop the chief on the food bin again. it works but takes forever.
like i said a few days
my villagers built a clothing hut, and it said I can buy them outfits with tech points. How do I do this?
In a previous game, I had a Chief who was 2 years old! Beat you by 1 year!
They look very funny waddling around in their gown.
I'm having a hard-time solving puzzle 13. I waited for my fire to go out at least twice and when I tried taking a villager to the waterfall and they just take a drink. Is there any certain tips on how I can solve it and is there a certain time I need to wait for to let my villagers dump water into the fire? Thx a bunch and pls reply :)
can you rebuild the part of the lab were the scientists work
I am at the point where I am trying to fix the statue. My master builder has put the plans on the chalkboard and started to build the scaffolding. However, Im not sure that he finished the scaffolding or not. He stopped mid way it seems and walked off but it doesn't look complete. Now I cant get anyone to work on the statue. When I put my builders near it I get the "villager sees a good spot to anchor the statue" but when i put them down they do nothing. The Chief wont even direct work or anything. Help, I dont know what to do.
The only way I've heard of to get unlimited honey is dependent upon whether one of your original villagers is a "runner", who likes to run and runs everywhere. If you have a runner smoke the bees in the beginning, it is supposed to trigger unlimited honey.
Bad Boy -
Have you gotten restoration level 3? They won't draw the plans until then.
Is the potion making them "light and springy" once they drink it? Once they drink it, pick the adult up and bring over to the area where the pink gem is. Watch closely, and drop them where text shows up indicating that they see the gem. If the potion works, they should then jump up and grab the gem.
Simply drop an adult on the clothing hut. The game will ask you if you want to spend the tech points and then will give you a multiple choice of new outfits.
You have to have the fire burning continuously for a certain amount of time. What you need to do is keep the fire going no matter what, for a couple of days, never letting it go out. After that start dropping kids on the waterfall. If they are taking a drink it is still not time. Once it is time they will start to carry water to put out the fire. Keep dropping them on the waterfall until the fire is out and the gem is no longer smoking. You need to keep dropping them on the waterfall until it is done, they will not go back and get more water.
Every time you get the next level in science the lab where they work repairs itself a little bit more. Eventually when you have level 3 the lab will be completely rebuilt.
You have the plans and the scaffolding, so I presume you have level 3 restoration. However, do you have level 3 leadership? If so, then what you need to do is drop the chief on the part of the statue that is lying on the ground, then drop your builders on the same place, not up on the path where the scaffolding is.
To whom ever it may concern,
I have a hint for how to train Doctors AT THE BEGINNING before you buy any medicine, and you may want to add this to the Walkthru.
Like VV2, children can heal.
If you buy the Alchemy Lvl 2 first, as suggested in the walkthru, then you can safely make potions.
You want the ones that produce green smoke and make the villagers sick. (ORL, CCO, OOR are a few)
SET THE GAME TO EASY,Get the potion made, pause the game, drag all the adults to the potion pot all at one time.Go to the detail screen and find your child, check Healing for the skill before you unpause.
Drop the child onto the adults as they start to walk away. To begin with it will be hard, but keep repeating until all adults are healed.
Repeat process until desired level of healing is reached.
I did this with the child that was nursing when they got to the city, starting at age 2. I kept my game paused and repeated the process every time I went back until the healing bar was almost full, and earned the Prodigy Award and the Healer award to my pleasant surprise.
I have the orchard complete in one tribe, and now when it rains and i pick up the seed to add to the food bin, it adds no food points. I read above that you can get 50 - 100 pts from these seeds. Is that only if you have no food?
If i am not going to get any benefit from the seeds, i see no point in gathering them.
I pretty much beat the game, but I was wondering
when the ghosts appear and talk about their betrayal, is that for all of isola or just the north side?
I figured out that i WAS getting food points for the seeds... 4 pts each. The pts are added when its picked up,not when it's added to the food bin.
And for some reason, i am having multiple collectibles showing up at the same time. Three at a time and I only have three kids.
Could it be because I run it at fast speed when I am sitting here playing? I keep it paused or slow when im not tending the game.
Where do you build the clothing hut?
I believe that the clothing hut is the ruins that are closest to the waterfalls.....
You can't build this until late in the game, evidently, because i have level 2 of everything except Faction and my builders are just confused and need more research when i drop them there.
One of my tribe members now has a skill called "Esteemed Elder". What does that mean?
An Esteemed Elder is a villager who has achieved Master level in three different skills. It doesn't really give them anything different, just the title.
The foundation for the clothing hut will appear below and to the right of the love hut.
I've never gotten more than the usual 4 points of food (or whatever the number is) for the seeds dropping. I don't think it's worth the trouble of getting on the lift.
The collectibles are random. Sometimes you'll get several at once and sometimes you'll get none for awhile. I don't think the speed makes much difference.
I can't seem to make a scientist. I'm so confused. It's driving me crazy.
To make a Scientist, you need to drop a villager onto the research table located in the science lab (approximately in the middle of the village). Let your villager work there and he/she will achieve the rank of Trainee Scientist. As he/she keeps working, the ranks of Adept and Master will come.
To start out, I love this guide and has been very helpful. I love the gradual release of information with the spoiler tab if I only need a little nudge :) I do have a question that is just a matter of curiosity. I always thought that villagers could only have children when they were 18 or older. However, when I opened my game tonight to check on my little guys, I had a girl that was 17 years old with a baby! Is that normal or just really rare?
Not only is that very rare, you should never have a 17 year old with a baby. I can't imagine what happened.
I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that there's a potion that lets you pick your chief, like if you feed it to one of your tribespeople the robe will fit regardless of whether it fit before. What's the potion?
I researched all techs except for science 3 and tribe 3. I dropped a master builder over the "good for scaffolding" spot. She started working and immediately stopped. Now I can't put anyone to work there. I am playing the iPhone version of the game. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
For the lift, whenever I put someone on it, they ignore it and do something else, both when its raining and full as well as when its empty. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, I may have asked this before, but I'm not sure if it went through. Is there a potion that lets whoever drank it become chief, regardless of whether the robe fits them or not?
