That yellow room thing happened to me too. Just start clicking all the buttons twice and you should get it ^_-

As for me, I'm stuck on the white room. I went back to all the rooms, wrote down the location, size, and color of the circles in the rooms, copied them to the White room, and nothing.

I've started to write a complete walkthrough for the dark room, and all I need to do is complete the white room.

Here's the solution to the green room, wich in my opinion is the hardes room. This is writen assuming the triangle is in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Ceiling-Upper most left facing front wall
Front wall-Center
Floor-Center closest to back wall
Right wall-Upper most left
Left wall-Bottom most left
Back wall-Upper most right

Wow, Jay... you have some awesome patients b/c you must answer the same question like 10 times =)

I find that most ppl, when presented with a challege that is jst that, a challenge, they'll spend just enough time to get frustrated and give up... I spent 30mins in the org room and finally figured it out and it felt so good! By far, the org and red rooms were the toughest... the others simply took a few mins to establish the patterns.

I am quite saddened that ppl don't try harder and look for ways out as quickly as some do... also, they don't take time to read other ppls questions! I have seen the same question being asked: "OMFG!?!! How do I do the white room!?!!"
You obviously have answered it SEVERAL times... you, my friend, are a better person than I because I wouldn't have answered a question more than once and would have directed them to look at the posts a little harder.

hats off to you!

nothing anyone has ever posted about the red room has helped me. dice? no, i don't get it.

Reply

Everybody thinks that the red colored room was the hardest. It was the most simple for me. It resembles a giant dye, easy to figure out. All you have to do is on the oposite side of each side, highlight all of the cirlces. Remember, each 2 sides of a dye equals 7. Count all the circles that got highlighted, subtract that from 7, and click on the opposite side the remainder of 7, do that for all the walls, and your set.

Reply

Just a word...the white puzzle is difficult for those of us with slow computers because we can't look at the twirly post-room patterns without halfway locking up our browser trying to render the pattern...

Reply

Purple room got me. For some reason, i'd get all the satellites but then nothing would happen.

Hey, i'm just starting this game and i'm so stuck, i have read all the hints above and nothing is helping. i started a new game, clicked on a red, yellow, and blue button, then clicked on the triangle. i am in a room with 3 orbiting balls on each side of a cube. kinda looks like a dice. i dont know what color room im in or what to do, and i dont know how to get to any other rooms to get clues? please helpp

Reply

202552 - save that 'room' for last. Solve each one separately first, then revisit white (red, blue & yellow) once you have solved all the others (don't forget about green, orange, and purple).

I have just completed the yellow room...I think...These weird swirls appeared on the walls and I don't know what they mean...do they mean I completed the room?

You have to finish all the other room befor you can finish the white room.

To find the rooms think about the primary and secondary color.

christabel April 19, 2005 2:20 AM

The green room is actually quite simple. You have to cover the entire cube in green and it can only be achieved by clicking on the symbols that fit. Each side of the cube will light similarly with one click on a single side. The trick is that the symbols are not the same on all the sides. That's the pattern to the green room. :)

How The HELL do u get past this game

Reply

The Dark Room is a great game! And I do agree, it's HARD! I've finished all the rooms, except for green (can anyone help?). Blue was by far the easiest one, and so was red, although it took me some time to realize the simplicity of it. ;) Orange and purple took a lot of screen shots and sketches to finish, and yellow was done by clicking the dots in the corners of the ceiling and floor and some other random clicks. =) White was quite an easy one too - finish the other ones first, then view the "finale" of these colours. There should be something different floating around on one of the room's panels... Jot down what you see, and go play the white room. Anyways, help for the green room?

Reply

I've pressed many buttons and have seen many patterns but am no closer to 'getting out' than when I started. Any clues much appreciated.

OH MY GOD, RED ROOM SUCKS!!!

i was working on it for soooooo long until i realized that if you look at it like it is a cube instead of a room, it is a die, and since certain numbers are opposite on a die, you have to put 5 across from 2 and 4 across from 3

*SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER*

Some useful hints:

RED - It's a big die (singular of dice). If you run your mouse over the blank walls, the dots will light up. The number of dots on opposite walls adds up to 7. Of the two walls that you need to click on, the left one needs 4 dots (the four corners), and the right one needs 5 dots (the four corners plus the center).

YELLOW - You need to light up every square. An easy way to do this is to first click on each circle on the ceiling once, then click on each circle on the floor once. At this point, all of the squares on the side walls will be lit up. For each remaining square that is not lit up yet, click on it twice (not a double-click, that's too fast).

BLUE - It's a maze, starting from the center tile on the floor, and ending at the center tile on the ceiling. Draw it on a piece of paper. You'll need to pass over each wall on your way to the end.

ORANGE - It's a matching game. You'll need to match all 6 pairs without messing up to pass. Make a drawing. It helps.

PURPLE - You need to move your mouse over all of the satellites without moving it over any of the spiders. Again, a drawing really helps. There are 12 satellites (and 12 spiders).

GREEN - You need to light up the entire cube by clicking on the trapezoids. First, orient your view such that you're looking at the side wall where the bulls-eye is in the top right corner. On that wall, click on the trapezoid in the center. Rotate 90 degrees to the left. On this wall, click on the trapezoid in the bottom left corner. Rotate 90 degrees to the left again. On this wall, click on the trapezoid in the top right corner. Rotate 90 degrees to the left again. On this wall, click on the trapezoid in the top left corner. From this point, the trapezoids you need to choose on the floor and the ceiling should be obvious.

I cant believe it!!!! I didnt have much of a problem with any of the rooms, but with the white one... MY GOD!!!! I tried that for i dont know how long in most of the rooms.... then i took a much faster look at the rooms and nearly killed myself... it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!

For those of you who can't beat the white room, go to all the rooms you have completed and if you look around on the walls, you will see a rotating circle on one of the walls in each room. Mach those to the walls in the white room.

And for any other rooms, look further up and you will find a spoiler for all of them.

umm... derek... its no use if we just give you the answers for the ring- thats the end of the game. go to the other rooms, and you can "cheat" on what to do to find the answers- but trust me that its no fun if we just "give" you the answers. (still not as fun using cheats on how to anyway!)

red room cycle is medium on the celing going counter clockwise
the blue is on the floor, medium and counter
yellow is two walls to the left of the bullseye, large
oragne two walls to the right medium
purple is large and to the right of the bulls eye
and the green is to the left of the bullseye and large

i put one color on its corresponding wall, on the ring it belongs... nothing
i have put the color on every ring EXCEPT the ring it was found on...
nothing
i have put the color on EVERY ring... nothing

what the heck am i doing wrong? its driving me crazy

i do not get how to get through the 1st room

Anthony - the "1st room" depends on which one you selected to do first, since there are 7 different 'rooms' than the one you start in.

Identify the room by the color you chose.

Reply

please help me with the yellow room i dont get it help!

Please help. I got the yellow but I can't get the white, it says that they're going counterclockwise but the red and blue are going clockwise. I'm so confused, help please!!

I had just finished the game what do i do know the screen goes coloury than you press this button it goes blue than what?

Reply

Josh - it sounds like you just finished only 1 of 8 games in the Dark Room. Find another color, solve the puzzle, rinse, repeat. =)

Reply

hey again, i finished all the rooms and all of the colours lit up on the side with four boxs each, but i finished all the colours than finished the white then when i went back to the first room all i could see was the 6 boxs on 1 side and there was rainbowy blurrs after it lead to a different button, not the red blue or yellow, but a diff button when i clicked it it turned light blue and the colour didnt spred to the warp oad thingy, what do i do next?

Reply

Josh - I'm not sure I understand where you are from what you wrote, but this is how the game is structured:

There is a puzzle that is activated by each of the 3 primary colors: red, blue, yellow

There is also a puzzle that is activated by each of the 3 secondary colors, green, orange, purple, which are made by combining pairs of the primary colors.

You need to solve each color's puzzle. When you do, the room fills with swirls and provides you a clue with which to solve the white puzzle.

Combine all of the colors to get to the white puzzle, which, when solved, enables the door through which you can leave the room and end the game.

Does that help?

Kalie -

the green room needs to be all green

clicking on a quadrilateral makes it appear on the wall and in a mirrored position on every other wall of the room

you need to click one shape on each wall so that none overlap with the image or original on any other wal and so that all the walls are completely green

Walkthrough

RED:

Ok, on the red room, you have to think of it as a die (a die is a cube normally used for board games with dots on each side of it, opposite sides add up to 7). Each wall in the room is going to add up to seven with its opposite side. Like, one side will have one dot on it, and the side opposing it will have 6 dots on it. Another side will have 2 on it, and the opposing side will have 5 on it. And finally, one side will have 3 on it, and the opposing side will have 4 on it. Easy.

ORANGE:

Draw this on a piece of paper. make 6 boxes and label them on their location. the easiest way to do this is to make one box and mark it with the triangle with the bulls eye in the upper right hand corner and make the rest of the boxes in relation to them in the right direction. Like the ceiling will be above this box, the floor below it, the side you must use the cursor to go right with to the right of the box with the triangle in it on the right of this box and so on, after you do this, draw a small dot corresponding with each dot in the game. after this its a trial and error game, and it helps if you write down which two dots match together. like in the box with the bulls eye in it, the dot in the upper right hand corner near the bulls eye matches with the dot in the upper right hand corner on the opposite wall. the dot in the lower left hand corner of the wall with the bulls eye on it matches with the lower left hand corner dot on the ceiling and so on and so forth, write it down, draw it, its easy.

YELLOW:

On this one, it's really easy, make sure that all the squares on the ceiling and floor are filled in. when you click each box, the box that is right above it, to the right and left of it, and the one below it will turn yellow. it makes a big plus sign. after you fill in the entire ceiling, do the same to the floor. after both the ceiling and the floor are completely filled in, just click on the remaining boxes twice and they will fill in too.

GREEN:

You need to light up the entire cube by clicking on the trapezoids.

BLUE:

It's a maze, starting from the center tile on the floor, and ending at the center tile on the ceiling. Draw it on a piece of paper. You'll need to pass over each wall on your way to the end. Trial and Error works best on this one.

PURPLE:

Easiest one. This room is filled with satellites and spiders. there is either a satellite or a spider in each corner of each wall. draw the entire room on a peice of paper using the same strategy as i wrote in the orange room and just remember where the spiders and the satellites are, there are 12 spiders and 12 satellites. if you hit a spider, all of the satellites dissappear and you must start over.

now that i have pretty much told yall how to do everything. somebody help me with the white room :/ please?

Reply

ready for this?

ok for the yellow room, just think of it as a game of trappers,or if there is a cube all by itself that is not lit,but the rest is,just click it 2 times!

red room: just think of this as the inside of a dice(one dice)one side has six side, another 5,4,3,2,1, and there you go!

Reply

I highly enjoyed this one it took me a while since i was working thru it in school but i finished it without hints. The green room is hard as hell tho. It sometimes helps to draw out the cubed room for some of the rooms.

Reply

I just started to play the game but in the first room (the dark one), how can I solve it?
Can someone help???

Reply

hey hiram archibald, draw the walls of the white room on a piece of paper and label it according to its relationship of the wall with the bullseye in the upper right hand corner. then go back to every color room you've beat. every room has a wall that has a spinning thing similar to that of the white room. write down which wall and what circle has the color of that wall. then go back to the white room and put the colors on.

Reply

i drew a cube on paint and marked where things were for each room... i found this really helpful

Right - small pink
Back - medium orange
Left - medium yellow
Floor - small blue
Roof - medium red

any one who's stuck on blue room-

look at the design on each square thing- an open path means an accesible square. wander around for a while and you'll get it.

okay, not much of a spoiler, but it helped me, and it took awhile to realize it

Reply

Wow - that was a good one - really tricky to figure out what you have to do - but I did most of them with out cheating too much.

Reply

Well... I'm in a bit of a delema. The third room I went into was, what I belive, is the "white" room. It does have white edges aswell. For clarification, this room has the orbiting circles in it. You do need to have solved all the other rooms (and I know why) but I can't go into any other new rooms... Back inside, in the first room, the color of the circle I clicked on to activate this room was blue. Do I have to completely restart to do this correctly? Or is there a way I can simply go into another room. I don't see anymore circles to click on anywhere around...
