About puzzle 15: Have you got level 3 dendrology? It won't work without it.
First, drop your villager on the hole in the tree to get the "pure of body" message. Then drop that villager on the soap, they will add it to the pool. Drop the villager into the pool and wait until they climb out. If you try to pick them up before they are done, they won't sparkle. Then drop them on the hole again to get the "pure of mind" message. Get them meditating and again wait for them to get up. If you try to pick them up too early it will not work.
When making soap, if you get the message that it needs something nutritious, it means that you used fresh water instead of salt. Making soap only works if you use salt water.
Twins and triplets are random events, they happen when they happen.
The tidal pool is at the lower right of the screen, by the fish statue. You can only collect scales at low tide, so keep checking back until the water lowers, then start looking.
Your honeymoon hut is built, right? They won't reproduce without it. There are not potions, although they will get pregnant easier with a higher level of medicine. The best thing to do, and yes, it's rude, is to just pick a female, and keep dropping her on a male, over and over, until you see the population go up.
Don't worry about using up the cloth at the clothing hut, just keep making cloth and eventually you will hit the trophy. The game keeps track of how many times you make cloth, regardless of how much is stacked at the clothing hut.
Fun tip: you can triple collect cloth! Here's how you do it: Follow the steps until it is cooked, then have an adult drop it on the rock. Now, drop three adults, quickly, on the cloth. When all three are done (30%), drop them again, quickly (60%). Do this one more time, until the cloth is at 90%. Now grab three adults and drop them on the cloth fast. If you do it fast enough, each of them will finish the last 10% and pick up three bolts of cloth and take it to the hut, for a total of 9 bolts made with one batch.
This trick will also work with the soap. Once the soap has boiled, drop three adults quickly on the pot and if you timed it correctly, each of them will carry a batch of three bars to the rack.
You need two things for the ghosts to appear, the completed mausoleum collection and at least one dead villager. The ghosts of your villagers cannot visit until someone is actually a ghost, i.e. dead.
I have a pot of stew that I don't want anymore and it won't evaporate & I can't empty the pot? any suggestions? thanks.
My question doesn't seem to post?? I need to know how to empty my stew pot so I can make cloth but it won't evaporate?? Please Help!!
Thank You! its appreciated Grinnyp!
Ok! I signed up! maybe I can post now?? I need HELP!!
I have stew in my pot and it won't evaporate & i can't empty it?? they continue to eat it but it never goes away? I've tried adding herbs but it tells me it needs boiling water but I can't add water because the pot isn't empty & i can't put another rock under because there's no water in the pot???
Behind the pot is something that looks like a drain in the floor. Drop an adult on the drain and they will empty the pot so that you can start over.
a good strategy for the Grand Feast-
Gather the herbs, put water in the pot, and have a rock heating. DON'T add the rock UNTIL you see a mushroom appear. Then, have someone (Young, preferably likes to run) take the rock to the pot and quickly add the herbs, once the herbs are added drop a child onto the mushroom.
Once the mushroom is in the kid's hands it's safe and he can take his time with it, while he does that have adults gather the rest of the ingredients and you will have your stew!
for those of you that, like me, have difficulties spotting collectibles easily, I used the same trick as with totem tribe: I made a red stroke around each collectible item and now they stand out very well. this helps especially when there are a few items on the map simultaneously. the file's name is collectables_small.png
Purifying the Tree Tip:
You DON'T need the nursery school. All you need to do is keep all children from crossing the stream bed where the water was flowing off the cliff at the start of the game. You can either do this manually or by dropping any adult on a child for story time OR by dropping one child on top of another for a jumping contest. Personally, I prefer getting them to distract the crab.
Tech Points Tip:
Hummingbirds still come around after you've decorated the tree. Drop children on the flower the hummingbird goes to, and the children will take the flower back to the lab for big points! How big? Using this method, I scored 6K tech points inside of 2 minutes, tech level 2.
ok my little people are having problems they hardly have any food the berry bush is cleaned out (i know it grows back ) and the cooking fruit tree thingy hardly gets any food i only have 194 and it keeps getting smaller i need another way to get food i cant fish and if i stop trying to get food from the trees they might starve i put my game on pause so they dont die plz help me
Help me C.C
To empty a stew you have to click on the sewer looking thing in the research lab. Anyway!, does anyone know a place where you can get tech points? I mean, the games seems to be getting food, points, and progress done 2x faster than the other versions, but I have like, no patience at all. XD
I'm having trouble with the edible stew also.
I have fish.
I've added the boiling fresh water the 3 herbs and a bowl of food form the store and still says its unfinished, what AM I doing wrong?
If you don't have the technology yet to fish, then your best bet for food is to collect mushrooms religiously, using the double-collect trick with the kids. Red mushrooms especially can be life savers, as they are, at a minimum, worth 35 food points. You can keep a tribe from starving until you get the fishing nets fixed if you concentrate on finding mushrooms. Also, do you have the tech points to increase your farming technology? It doesn't open up any new food sources, but it makes the ones you have worth more food points, which is a help.
Are you trying to make the grand feast stew? For that stew you not only need food from the bin, you need berries, fruit from the tree, fish, and a mushroom.
How do you have your villagers train healing when they're virtually healthy all the time?
Puzzle 15...I can get the meditation part with the gold sparkles but even after the bath the white ones don't appear. I have all adults...do I need the children to havee this happen? And do I need all 12 wind flutes...I have 10...thank you!
Whenever the women have a baby its always a boy. Am i doing something wrong?
Help. I only need 2 more peaces to complete the mausoleum but the last 2 peaces never show up on the ground I've looked all over my village and nothing i check every day and still nothing comes up.
If no one gets sick, then you will have to wait until you can build the hospital to train healing.
It doesn't require children, or all the wind flutes. After they meditate and get the gold sparkles, do you drop them on the tree and get the "clean of body" message?
The gender of the children born is random, there's nothing you can do to affect that.
There's nothing you can do but wait and look for the mausoleum pieces. There's no way to affect how quickly or where they show up.
Hey,you can empty the pot. Click on the sewer looking thing north of the pot. They will empty it. ANYWAY, how do you make the stew for the grand feast? I got all the ingredients in but the stew never finishes. I try to put another rock on it but nothing happens.
how do you get to make a sharp tool or whatever. I tried taking a fishbone off and it keeps taking it to the fire, then refusing. Help?
I haven't even mastered making soap yet and went to go and make a stew and i tries putting in herbs, food and still making it as boiling water. It still says "unfinished stew" so now i can't get the water out to make soap. I'm totally stuck and have no idea what to do.
But I thought I would just go for the feast and thought it might let the other stews happen, so Ive done the grand feast.
I cant get the stews to happen. Used soapy, sweet and spicy and a bowl of food, fresh boiling water and still says unfinished.Still no luck. Any clues?
How do I fill the pot with water? When I try all my sims do is refuse and say needs boiling water, which I do not get quite frankly.
for those people whose grand feast stews arent working out, and your sure uve added evrything, even the mushrooms and THE HERBS, and the stew is still steaming, i have a tip. sometimes theres a glitch where the game doesnt register that u've added an ingredient, usually the first one. try adding the first ingredient u put in, and if that doesnt work, try the others. and dont worry if it cools down, just add another rock. also, when ur doing this and the villager just says, 'retreiving a fish' or 'shaking the tree' dont worry wait until the fruit has finished cooking and the villager has stepped of the pier. doing them in order of the hardest to get ingredients then the easiest to get ingredients mite help... i wait until it rains, pick the herbs (alredy adding the boiling water) add the herbs, then get a mushroom. If nuthin registers at first, u mite want 2 consider adding the food from the food bin first.
oh, PS- i know that was a lot of claptrap but i hope it helped!
I am trying to finish the Soap puzzel. I need to clear my stew, there are three ingredients and i added food but it wont clear.
Any help with that?
how do i build the cloth hut?
I want to get cloth but it keep says not enough tech point. I cant figure how much tech point i need to make clothes?
just a little trick for getting the grand feast... wait till it's raining to get everything together, after it rains a lot more mushrooms pop up so your more likely to get one then at other times. i did this and got the grand feast on the first try. also i don't know if anyone else had this problem but i had to put food from the food bin in twice before it would work!
Help, I have tons of flowers but the 2nd lei won't complete...is it a glitch? How do I start the lei over?
Is your fire burning? The fire needs to be burning for the villagers to make a tool.
Did you also add food from the food bin? You need to add food from the food bin to finish a stew. If you want to get rid of a stew and start over, drop a villager on the drain behind the cauldron and they will empty out the pot so you can start again. If you did add food from the food bin, did you use the herb combo soapy, spicy, sweet? If so, that is the recipe for the grand feast, and also requires berries, tree fruit, fish, and a mushroom to complete.
You are still using the "recipe" for the grand feast, soapy, spicy, and sweet. To make a different stew, you have to change the herb recipe. Try sweet, sweet, sweet, or sweet, sweet, spicy, for instance. If you check the walkthrough above there is a spreadsheet with all the stew recipes.
It sounds like you are dropping them on the pot, which is the cue to make a stew. To put water in the pot, you need to drop them on the bowls over on the east side of the island. There is a pile of bowls at the top of the cliffs (near the stream and the wind flutes) that is for fresh water, and there is a pile of bowls at the base of the cliff (near the ocean) that is for salt water. Drop a villager on one of the bowl piles to bring water to the pot.
You don't add food to the soap recipe if it is done correctly. Remember to use salt water for the soap. To start over, just drop a villager on the "drain" that is between the pot and the rack for soap, and the villager will empty the pot so you can try again.
You get the foundation for the clothing hut when you purchase level 2 science. Once the foundation has appeared just drop builders on it and they will build it.
Do you have the clothing hut built? You can't make cloth until you build the clothing hut, and to build the clothing hut you need to buy level 2 science.
I tried the tip about starting with villagers who like running... it does work! They seem to move about twice as fast as normal (non-running preference) adults.
Other likes that seem to help are "learning" - these seem to pick up skills faster, so (for instance) you can make your combination adept scientist/adept builder faster, and "work", which seems to increase stick-to-it-iveness, so they have less tendency to wander off.
Just starting a new game now with a combination of runners, workers and learners. So far it's working ok...
HELP! whenever i try putting the four hot stones in the pire pit, i always get to putting the last one in, and then another disappears! it's like i can't put four stones in th pit, only 3, because they keep disappearing! please help i am gettin frustrated lol.
Hiya . . . Having fun with the game, thanks so much!
Thought I'd mention, where you say "This is a spreadsheet of all stew recipes and their effects" all I see is an ad - there is no link or other way I can see to get the recipes.
[Thanks for pointing that out, I'm not sure why that was happening. I've just switched it to a link to the spreadsheet rather than trying to embed the sheet on the page as before. -Jay]
i have a adept scientist and builder villager but she still won't move the stone to plug in that big hole. what should i do?
How do you improve parenting for adults? By having them teach at the nursery, or just from the love shack?
Yes, those are the best folks to start out with, runners especially. But be careful selecting runners: make sure that they don't dislike work or learning. A runner that won't work or learn can be the bane of your existence.
It sounds like you're not getting the rocks to the pit fast enough, the earliest you put in is cooling down. Try this: put the first rock into the fire to heat. When it turns red, drop an adult on the pile of rocks to take a new one to the fire, then have an adult pick up the red hot one to take to the pit. Each time a rock heats up, get the next one started to the fire before you take the red one to the pit. Once all four are in the pit get the banana leaves quickly.
Is she both an adept builder and an adept scientist?
There are three ways to increase parenting skill: (1) dropping villagers on each other to make babies, (2) dropping an adult set to parenting on a child to tell a story (every time they tell a story they gain parenting experience), and (3) having a baby (this is for the female villagers only, their parenting experience goes up while caring for the baby).
I need help with the stream, the stream is clean but i do not see the chevron stone to block the hole what is it close to , can someone post a picture of it , ty
Ok, I am totally convinced that I will never get the last scale on the fish statue and the last 2 tiles of the mausoleum. I have completed all the puzzles and am at population capacity. I fear I will have to start over, but after investing MANY hours already, I hate to start over. I guess there is no sure fire way to get them to show up?
The chevron stone is at the base of the cliff near the water, where the waterfall used to fall. Here is a screenshot.
I, too, thought that I would never get the fish statue finished, and then suddenly, after days of waiting, I finally got the last scales. There's no sure-fire way to get them to show up, just look carefully when there is fog (the wind-flutes will blow and cause lots of collectibles to appear).
Nope, it's just a matter of patience and vigilance. I'm still waiting on the last uncommon flute head and 3 rare fish scales, myself. See below for a mausoleum tidbit.
The good news is that unlike the pieces for the other 3 collections, mausoleum pieces don't repeat, so as soon as you see one, you know it's going straight to the puzzle.
You can drop a child OR a non-nursing adult on the post-lei hummingbirds' flowers for tech points (but the kids are faster).
You can drop any non-nursing adult on a child to initiate story time, regardless of what their preferred skill is set at. Like anything else, success means improvement, while a head shake means it didn't take (this time). Setting the skill to Parenting just gives you an instant heads-up as to how the adult ranks as a parent.
where is the "chevron shaped stone"?? please help me., can you show me a picture of that?., thank you very much
I have not noticed anyone mention this but after you have completed the hummingbird/decorate tree puzzle the hummingbird still appears (seems randomly) and pollinates a flower. Drop kids on it and they bring it to the lab for 250 tech points each & you can get quite a few of them before the flower is no longer in bloom.
hi i cant complete game because it crashes when i try ti collect crabs for 5 stone cleaning i done everything else got all trophies i can
See my reply to DebbieM above, it has a screenshot.
If it is crashing on you, that sounds like a technical problem. You should contact the vendor where you purchased the game, their technical support department might be able to help you.
Help me please!
I am on the puzzle 8 and when i drag a villager to the pulpy vine.. It says the flower isnt ready to bloom yet... Help me please quick... What do I do now?
im trying to get the grand feast but it won't catch the crab
how can i finish the grand feast puzzle when there are no berries anymore? it hasn't grown back too after a couple of days of playing...
forget above i found a way to complete crabs now i need to know how to increase housing i have 2 huts and 35 ppl cant have more kids without more housing can u help pls grinnyp
You are dropping the villager in the wrong place if you are getting that message. Try dropping them at different points around the pulpy vine until you find the right spot.
You do not need the crab for the grand feast. You need food from the food bin, berries, tree fruit, and a mushroom.
The berries are probably growing back, but your farmers will pick them as soon as they do. Stay in the game for a while, and make sure the farmers don't go near the bush. Eventually you will have enough berries for the feast.
You need construction level 3 to get the foundation for the third hut. Once you buy construction level 3, the foundation will appear and you can build it. Warning: that last hut takes a long time to build, so put as many builders on it as possible to speed up the process.
I just want to Thank all the people that have commented on the game.It really helped me out!
how do i train my villagers to become a doctor as fast as posible?? thanks
I have the clothing hut built, and the cutting tools, but i cannot get any adult to cut the vines. do they need to be a specific vocation, like an adept builder or something? did i just miss a step?
I just found out something amazing !!!
If you see that blue\green hummingbird seating on a flower and you drop kids on that flower when it is on it's full bloom they bring it to the labrotory and it gives you 250 teach points for every flower you bring !!!
*don't grab the kid , if it will loose it's flower you will not get the teach points , wait for the kid to arrive to the labrotory and put the flower in it's place then you will ger the 250 teach points ...!!! <3 LoLGirl
I have the clothing hut, and cutting tools and still cannot make clothing. is there something else i need?
The fastest way is to let the fire die out when you have a population of 10-20 adults & let them get sick. Because any non-nursing villager can attempt to heal a sick villager, you could conceivably make a 2-year-old Adept Doctor. The slower way is to buy Level 3 Medicine & build the Healer's Hut.
NOTE: Studying medicine is the slowest-per-try training of any skill.
What is happening when you try to cut the vines? Adults do not need a specific vocation to make cloth.
I have played for several days, have 34 villagers, level 3 for all tech except medicine and construction, 10 of the puzzles.
I have been making fire without a problem, but now, all of the sudden, I can't. I have gathered firewood, but the villagers won't even see the dry grass, let alone gather it.
Please, I need help...I asked once yesterday, but no responses....the 2nd lei won't complete although plenty of flowers...is it a glitch or how do I start a lei over again...i've tried 1 child, 6 different children...evrything i can thing of.
how do i gt the water to boil and do i use fresh water or salt water
puzzle 9, all my villagers are refusing to teach. How can this be?
Could there already be grass in the fire? Try dropping a villager on the fire and see if they'll light it.
This sounds like a glitch. Have you tried quitting out of the game and coming back?
To get water to boil, you need to heat up a stone. Just to the left of the bridge that goes to the lab is a pile of rocks. Drop a villager on the rocks and they will take one to the fire. Wait a minute, and the rock will turn red. Drop a villager on the red rock and they will take it to the pot of water.
Your villagers have to have a certain skill level, at least adept in three different skills, to teach at the nursery.
I can't get someone to get all the children in the nursery. They said drop a random person but when I do. Says not enough skills to teach
This is hilarious! I have a little typke just born named "PEEP". The funniest looking little thing Ive ever seen..LOL!!! I finished all puzzles and collections just trophys and hospital to go. No twins or triplets, though.
To teach they need to be adept in at least 3 different areas.
I am trying to make the grand feast, I was able to get all the ingredients in the pot except for the berries, when they harvest them, they are not taking it to the pot..What needs to be done?
ok, well apparently there are no berries that is why it's not going to the stew..I have not seen any berries grow for sometime..and no my peeps aren't harvesting them..so how do they grow??
My issue is the Lei. I have the braid out and i see the hummingbird and I drop the child on it. It does say flower is in full bloom but i have tried over and over and over with the same and different children and no one will pick the durned flower. Their actions say nothin or they resume thier same childrens activities. Am i missing something?
How do get the water in the pot to boil?
The berries will eventually regenerate a little, it just takes time. Keep a sharp eye on your people, they will go for the bush the minute some berries grow back.
Apparently you are missing the hot spot to pick the flower. Try dropping the kids in different areas around the flower.
To heat up the water in the pot, you need to bring a hot rock to the lab. The rocks are to the left of the bridge that goes up to the lab. Drop an adult on the rocks and they will take one to the fire. Wait until the rock in the fire turns red, then drop an adult on it to take it to the pot. Remember, they won't take a rock to the pot unless there is already water in it.
I am having a blast playing this version of VV but I'm a bit confused. The instructions say to drop a villager on the "keystone" at the bottom right of the map, but I can't find it. What does it look like?
I've been playing this game for 4 solid days now and I've not seen a crab once. HELP! PLUS - I've also reached all the levels and catagories. I still can't figure out how to get the water flow so that I can have a bath made.
I can't catch the crabs, successfully caught one and now, despite using two kids to distract and trying all my different adults, they are refusing to catch them!
Any hints or tricks on catching crabs?
Here is a screenshot of the keystone. You need someone who is both an adept builder and adept scientist to move it.
Have you completed the fishing nets yet?
I have only ever seem the hummingbird once when i did'nt need it. Now i do and it will not come is there any way to make ot come. i have done all the other puzzles exsept this one
I have been playing VV4 for about a week now and only one event (about mosquitoes) has popped up. I know there are supposed to be other events - but they never come.
does anyone know how to complete the pool party trophy? ive tried dropping them all in pool and standing them all on edge so the jump in together but it still not working. any ideas?
You have to make sure they all read "going swimming."
Once the hummingbirds start coming, they will continue to show up. They can be a bit hard to spot, especially if they show up when you're concentrating on something else. Just watch closely.
Although there are island events, they are a lot slower to arrive than in the previous games.
Make sure that you are not using nursing mothers, they won't stay in the pool.
i have a stew cooking and it says its unfinished. i added fresh water and three herbs what did i do wrong? am i supposed to add food from the food bin, how would i do that?
Thanks Grinnyp, I must have been having a senior moment..so got it right thanks again.
I have a 62 year old female having a baby..now I'm surprised.I set her to get to esteemed elder or whatever it is now and turned the game back on and there she was with a baby!!!!Has anyone else had this experience?
Hello again...still haven't been able to solve Puzzle 15. I have all adults and have tried the meditation first, get the gold sparkles, go to the tree where it says must be clean of body, then drop the adult into the soapy pond...it says getting clean but when they emerge...no white sparkles! I've also tried the pond first, did get the white sparkles, went to the tree and it said must be pure of mind got the gold sparkles and went back to the tree and it said must be clean of body again. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help
It does happen rarely. Most women will stop having babies at around 50, but there are a few that sneak in who will have children right up until they die of old age. I'm not sure if it is a glitch or not.
I built the nursery school and I read that you have to have mastered two skills before you can teach. I have several villagers that are masters in one or more skills, but I keep getting a message that says, not enough skills to teach when I drag them to the school. What am I doing wrong?? Is there a certain skill that you have to be a master in before you can teach? Any info on this would be helpful.
Once you add the three herbs to the stew, drop an adult on the food bin and he/she will bring food to complete the stew.
Unfortunately, the sparkles don't last long, so you have to move very fast. If they wear off, you have to repeat the task (meditation or cleaning). Or start over. It can be tough to get the timing right.
The villagers need to be at least adept in three different fields before they can teach in the nursery.
I thought I would make all my "senior" females to parenting and now I have a range of nursing mothers from 56 right through to 72 and not only one off pregnancies for these islanders. Give it a try....
okay..so i started playing the game, and it was the spring equinox thingy..so i had to "spring forward" on my clock..and when i got back on the game.all my people died..is there any cheat to get them back? cuz if i had known, i wouldnt have done that:(
Oh, I've tried, believe me. But only 1 in 10 of my women will end up becoming mothers after the age of 50.
Sorry, I know of no way to resurrect a village. If all the villagers die, you have to start over.
I let a Scholar teach in nursery school, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the children. So I wondered, if I just didn't notice or if there really is no effect...
I was having trouble with the flower garland, I would drop the kids on the blooming flowers but they wouldn't pick them. I finally realized I had forgotten to finish the braids! Once the braid in on the rock you have to remember to put the adult on the braid to fix it. I am more then happy to fess up to being a dingbat if it helps someone else!! LOL :)
how to unlock puzzle 10, pleas,
reply to this comment, i realy need to know that,
Is there any way to get tech points faster?
