Hey. I have to congrat you on this game. When I first played it when it first was introduced, It took forever to load between rooms. But DAMN!! This game is scary. My boyfriend was even scared, and that's a rare site. But now that I played it through, it's quite a master-piece. Thank you for this. Wonderful, BRAVO!! *hugs* Come up with more please :'D?
omg the first time you play it its awsome with the sound on but with no sound on the second time its scary.my mom played it and she was scared my mumj scared???
sinthia you should make another one like a new family move in and it happens all over again and they see things and youve got to try and stop them killing themselves?
best bits
*that headless kid "wow"
*the end i aint telling you have to find out for yourself
*did anyone notice the evil dead girl in the kitchen trust its scary.
I played this b4 , my brother showed me this game and i started playing it...I yawned until the baby head dropped , what happened? I went screaming out of the room [It was stormy and was about the middle of the night and I was ALONE] Im 11 now...I played this when i was P2.After that , I closed my eyes and closed it -_-...
This game was so scary that I had to turn off my volume, continue the game in the day and leave all the doors open with someone here with me at my computer. I also had to move back abit from my computer.
When the part game where you reach the corridor and that woman came nearer and nearer, and when I clicked on the note and she showed herself, I had to open MSN to cover the game and talked with my friend while I was at it. XD The next thing I knew, the game was over.
OMG this game rulz it is scary like my first time watchin it i thought it would be crap but wen i kept cliking the picture and bazketball suddenly a freakin head game down then my fave was the corridor cuz the chick came and screamed then my friend screamed and ran out of the room it was pretty funny!!!!
Creepy...definitely! But I wasn't frightened. For some reason, I had to restart the game each time I went to a new room. That was a bit frustrating but I did finish and the music was pretty cool..it added to the evil ambience! The lady at the end reminded me of my second grade teacher...ahem!!!!! No, really. Great game. For those gamers out there who enjoy adventure games with mystery/creepy thrown in, Scratches, Black Manor and Post Mortem are pretty good. Scratches and Post Mortem are especially cool. Back to the House...I look forward to a follow-up game. A little hint that will help you get to each room:
Click back and forth on the items the game allows you to click on and "things" will begin to happen.
I hope that is of some help.
This game is SO creepy! I had read all the comments so when I actually played I had to make the window as small as possible and cover it with my hand...the sound effects still bothered me though D:
When I got to the bathroom the flashing lights freaked me out so much I couldn't even play it, even though I knew nothing would happen until the heartbeat started....0_0
It was good, but I guess it takes a lot more to scare me than most people :p
if you can't get past a certain area:
click on each thing a few times back and forth, like the picture/ball, calander/doll/I.D., toilet/post it note/bottle, light switch/note (this one took a lot of clicks for me, turn light on/off over and over, then note again, then light once more.
Hi again! I finally finished the game by getting my brother to sit there and click for me....he was highly amused while I freaked out. The only thing I saw was the women at the end...the scream was so unrealistic, and the face was funny, but it freaked me out! I was like, AHHHH! And my brother made fun of me. Maybe there will be more not-so-scary point and clicks to come?
OMG that scared me half to death the hand when it appeared was so scary. i hate the ending when the face came up i thought i would die of fright. i liked it and i want more to come and maybe even scarier. i am going to scare everybody i know. i will make my sister play it she gets scared so easy. hahahahahahahahaha i cant wait to see her face.
all you people are wimps ( only if you said it was scary!)
im only 12 and i have seen the grudge 2 ( it was ok but a little boring, the girl wet herself EWWWWW!) anyway ... i will try to get the walkthrough for thoes of you who whant it ... if not i will never give up ! ;)
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
p.s. if you do get scared just remember its not real and thier are no such things as ummmmm ... monsters ( i cant think of anything else to call them :) )
This game was a little more stupid than it was scary. The only thing that makes it scary is the "creepy" music. However, I did jump when the hand popped out of the bathroom. But other than that, the only scary parts are actually when something pops out. And that was, what, like a total of three times. I mean, come on! We all know that this kind of stuff isn't real. So to anyone out there who is a new player, don't be scared. It's all in your head. Literally!
This is so lame.. Clicking the same things over and over.. And what's up with the corridor? Clicking the final note 20 times does nothing for me.. was that supposed to be scary?
yawn
[Edit: As with any great thriller, it's all about creating suspense and atmosphere. The House excels at this as evidenced by the hundreds of comments saying so. Perhaps it didn't live up to your expectations of what you wanted it to be, but that's not the fault of the piece. My advice: Be more objective and you might just enjoy more of the world around you. -Jay]
LOL! That is what I call SCARY! I didn't expect the head coming down in the first room! I showed it to all my friends and they couldn't even look! I must admit WHAT a game that is! It's amazing! <3 Keep up the good work. Graphics = AMAZING! Plot = AMAZING! Keep up the work! Gotta get back to my friends now who hate me for showing it to them! lol
From Sara
I think it was meant to startle rather than scare, and it certainly did it's job there. I was expecting something creepy obviously, and it still managed to startle me...
My dad came in and told me to come play it when it was late and all the lights were off. Well here I am... 1:34 am playing this game with all the lights and crap off and yeah... no matter what I expected from each room, what happened to still made me flinch and jump.
Now I must go attempt to sleep with a vivid imagination that was just startled out of submission.
this is the first time i played a game so gory but fun. gory games are so not my type but this one is different. all my classmates finished the whole thing(im so left out)!!!Please please please email me a walkthrough! I'm begging you!something that could keep me from freaking out!OMG!But anyway this game is great!Hope you make more!IMPRESS US ALL!
I played this game, lights off, at midnight, with my boyfriend beside me. This game scared the crap out of us both! When that girl screamed, I dropped my cigarette in my lap (which caused me to scream)! My boyfriend jumped back from the computer screen and fell backwards in his chair (I warned him not to tilt back on it!)
There is one thing that confuses me, though:
There appear to be an extra person in the family. The child's drawing shows a mother, a father, a boy, and a girl, but you see 3 children in the house: the boy in the dining room, the girl in the bathtub, and the girl in the kitchen. If there are only 4 members of the family, who is the extra girl?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
Perfect for "the season"
creepy and scary
laughed, jumped, closed my eyes, could not not look, the waiting....
Soooo glad, it was daylight when I played...
"the girl" is creepy and will always be creepy-soooo happy she did not jump out of the tub!
The House was perfect, Thank You!
In the game, especially at the corridoor, that part was the scariest. But, truth is, the game was actually not scary anymore if you keep playing it.
Tip:After a drop of blood on the note at the corridoor, you will see a note. After that, the whole thing will blackout right? Well, the game didn't actually end. Before the whole game blackout, move your crusor to the switch (during the time you see the girl coming towards you) After the game blacks out, click on the switch (you can't see it). You will then see what happens. This part is the scariest!
Some people think that a game with only 'jump scares' isn't very scary. They want something else. I'm actually not scared of the story itself (tad cliched. One family member looses it, murders entire family and then self) but I got ruffled up badly by the jump scares which annoyed me. I only found the 1st and 4th one (skipped last stage) disturbing, the rest just made me jump for the sudden noise and image.
I do think that this was pretty good though, even though it was quite predictable. It has potential. Graphics were pretty good (liked the black and white) and the music was pretty suspenseful (love the piano part, nice touch). I wish that all the stages weren't the same where the tension slowly rises and then the heartbeat plays with the climax being a scare jump.
I ended up just randomly clicking between the 3 or 2 clickable items in the room which got confusing at times. There wasn't really a specific order or logic to it, but some still added some light to the story which was good. It would've been bad if the items were just completely pointless and unrelated to the story.
Like you could kinda tell how each member was killed by the items in the room. It didn't just show the outcome. I could tell that she shot her son's head off, drowned/poisoned her daughter in the bathroom, hung her other daughter in the kitchen, shot her husband in the forehead and... I'm not sure about the wife since I put my hand over the screen to avoid the last jump which I heard was the scariest.
This game overall, wasn't disappointing or a waste of time, but it annoys me when people say this game is better than Exmortis though since this game isn't very good story/plot wise. It just makes you jump more. Kudos the makers though. :3 Had a hard time sleeping for a bit in fear of stuff jumping out at me at night...
This game gets a ':c' in story/plot but gets thumbs up at creating suspense. Even though it was extremely repetitive, I do not see this game as 'stupid'. :/ {You shouldn't be so insensitive when commenting, I'm pretty sure you couldn't do anything better, Sarah... Of course it's not real, but these kind of things do leave an effect on some people.}
I'm glad that my computer is fast to load or else it would've ruined the effect... However, I had to redo the 4th stage since the last stage wouldn't load.
LOL, the last stage made me flinch and laugh at the same time. x'D Cliched, but hallways scare the **** outta me. Seriously, that hallway screams out 'IMMA GOING TO SCARE YOU, WATCH OUT!' ... I'm glad our house doesn't have any hallways like that...
The music and the change in items/background over time was very nice. <3 The scare factor varies for many, it mostly messes with your reflexes with the jumps but can scare you.
I have to agree with Dana Kelly though...
Why was there only 4 members in the family picture in the first stage? There were 2 girls, weren't there? The one that was poisoned/drowned in the bathroom and the one that was hanged in the kitchen... That threw me off. *shrugs*
I wonder if the makers made/will make another game? Seriously, they have potential, IMO. I'd hate to see it go to waste. ;D (This game would get a 4/5 from me. Not epic and has some NO's, but is pretty good overall)
(Yeah, another huge post from me. I'm sorry, I can't help it.)
JIGuest: Did you click between the 2 items enough to see the
child's head fall down?
All the rooms should let you progress further once you see the jump scare. Red text should appear saying go to next room or something like that.
I don't think this needs a walkthrough, it's fairly simple if not confusing and illogical. If you click in between the 3 or 2 items, eventually something will shift and then the music will change to the heartbeat meaning that a few more clicks and you get the jump. And for you people that give up easily
there's the tab cheat.
I want to try help a bit. I don't take jump scares well though so might skip a few details considering I'm blocking the screen with my hand. (And, then I screwed up so yeah... The bathroom and everything after is based off of my memory.)
-+-+-+-+-
Outside:
Click 'go inside'. (And a huge mutilated freak with no skin jumps out with a horrible screech! The end... I'm kidding, I swear!) No point standing around outside.
The Dining Room:
Click the child's drawing a few times which makes a ball fall down. Clicking the ball should give an eerie giggle. Click in between the ball and drawing and then the drawing should start twitching or pulsing.
Click it a few more times and -BANG-! Gunshot to the little boy's head in the drawing which cracked the glass. More randomly clicking between the ball/picture and more eerie giggling. ... Why hallo thar kiddy, seems like you're having fun laughing at me... without a head. Gee, he disappeared already? Might as well pick up (click) the ball he dropp- or it could just explode into bloody bits.
(And, here's the jump!) Click the drawing and- WHAT?! Well... there's the kid's head...
The Bathroom: ... I can't do this step by step with every single change, I'm sorry. I clicked madly at this part while not looking since bathrooms and hallways scare me. (Go ahead laugh... Though I'd prefer that you didn't. Yeah, shut up please. *hides in a hole*)
Anyway, there are 3 clickables. The note on the mirror, the container of poison on the ground and the toilet. After a few clickings the toilet overfills with blood and there's the girl's silhouette outside the window. The jump scare is a hand jumping out.
The Kitchen: I messed up, I accidently tabbed and went back to the dining room so from here on out, it's based off my memory. Sue me, I'm a spazz and lazy.
I believe there's... 3 clickable items? 2? The doll being hanged by a string (poor dear...), the note on the ground (not positive on this clickable...) and the calendar. You know the drill, click click click.
I forget the changes over time, but the jump scare here is a hanged girl dropping down from the ceiling.
Well, time to go further into the house and surely closer to my demise! Hurr hurr. :P
The LIVING ROOM:
There's 2 clickables I think and more later on. The portrait of the man, I'm guessing it's the husband, and the radio on the ground. I heard that the radio plays the creepy opening song, but my computer's sound was broken when I played this the first time.
When you keep messing around with the portrait, it falls down (I SWEAR IT WASN'T MY FAULT! It's not even broken see Mum? 8'D) revealing more things. I think a gun and a note. I'm pretty sure a note saying sorry and I love you doesn't make up for murder, sorry crazy lady. o_O
Well, you have no use for a gun in a haunted house so you just pick it up. Click around more and then look at the fallen portrait... His eyes roll back and start bleeding as blood trickles out of his mouth and then -BANG-! Whoopsie, guessed my hand slipped? But it wasn't near the trigger... You know what, I'm putting the gun back into the hole. x_x; (Guess the wife became 'trigger happy' when she went insane)
(AND THE BIG FINALE-) The CORRIDOR: Lemme git this straight you dern kids, mah memories not what it used ta be. *shakes cane*
*gets stuff chucked at her*
Ah, now doesn't this place scream out 'DEATH/SCARE/MIND RAPE IS IMMINENT!'? <3
Anyway, 2 clickables here I think. The note (in bad english, but forgive the maker, she's not fluent in english) and the light switch on the side. Well, this is just me, but I started clicking the switch madly while laughing to get rid of some stress. Guess that was a bad idea since the lights started breaki- I MEAN started flickering because of the evil spirits.
More clicking between the note and switch til the tension increases... (My hand was practically taking over the screen here so I prolly missed a lot of details) The scare jump here is supposed to be the ghost of the wife with a (slightly fake sounding) scream.
I spent quite some time typing this out... I hope it helps, even if only by a little... I know most of it's junk, but again, I hope it can help some people...
Yes that was very scary me and my mate were pissin ourselves when she came round the corner why we have company ben so he goes lets make her a cup of DEATH! lol it was slightly scary when she opened her mouth at the end coz she had a black tounge omfg lol and also it was pretty funy when she dropped down from being hung jake went ermmm ill just be moving on now and we just pissed ourselves all way through funny game thanks guys
This game didn't scare me. Hell, it didn't even scare my cat and he's usually afraid of loud, sudden noises and images. To be perfectly honest, it made me smile and laugh a little. Like when the chick popped out of the side of the door, I said, "Why, hello there!" Thanks for making an amusing game for me and "scary" for others.
