Songbird Symphony is a cute little platformer game with a very symphonic twist. You'll learn very fast that there are melodies you have to follow by pressing the S key, which is the S for SING. In the first few minutes the game teaches you how to stay in beat, which is pretty difficult as it is. Even before the game really started you might be getting frustrated because the game will punish you straight away if you miss the beat. But once you've succeeded in escaping to what seems your egg, you can hop outside and the real platforming begins.
The first goal is to find your uncle Pea, which is a Peacock and is rocking his butt off somewhere in the forest. You will learn your first dance from him after a (not so difficult as the beginning) timed and musical game. You need to press the S key at certain times and in with the beat of the music that is playing. If you keep on following the music, things will be easy enough for you to rock your socks off.
Once you've learned your first dance, it's up to you to venture further into the forest, help bees find flowers and collect several feathers and musical notes that you can gather by helping other animals out. Songbird Symphony is a very cool game, with amazing pixel art. The music used in the little rhythm mini-games is funky and will have you nod your head along with the songs. It appears to be a demo, and if there ever will be a fully fledged game (or maybe there already is, I haven't checked) it will be a very fun one indeed!
About the bee that wants help near the beginning
I thought I was supposed to press S to match the song playing at the time. I finally (thought) I got it right, but nothing happened. As far as I can tell, I was just supposed to ignore the bee. When I did, and kept going, I finally did find Uncle Pea. Maybe I'll have to return to the bee later.
I hope there will be longer game soon. It was fun, although I didn't really master the owl game.
