Kero Blaster Kero Blaster has arrived! The sidescrolling platform shooter by Studio Pixel looks simple and sweet on the surface, but the difficulty is cranked up high enough to give your reflexes an honest workout. As janitor for the teleporter manufacturer Cat & Frog, your job is to venture out into the dangerous world to fix the company's broken machines. No sweeping or actual repairing involved, just shooting and trying to stay alive!

Pajama Boy 2: The Dark Forest The woods are dark, scary, and filled with all manner of spiny, slashy, smashy traps, but Pajama Boy isn't afraid! ... Okay, maybe he's a little afraid, but he'll be alright as long as he can fill his jar with fireflies to stave off the darkness. Jump, dash, and roll your way through 40 levels to collect the fireflies and help Pajama Boy get back to his campsite!

Leo's Fortune Leo is a charming blue puff ball who is also very rich. Or he was very rich until some thief made off with his stash of gold. This also makes for a delightfully unique, remarkably gorgeous, and charmingly entertaining puzzle platform adventure.

Alchemist When the pure light that sustains the alchemists starts to dwindle it's what's referred to in the industry as "A Major Problem", and it's up to you to restore civilization in this gorgeous and brief metroidvania platformer.

Red Warrior When the villagers are captured, it's up to one little ninja to save the day... with world-flipping powers! Swap the world around you in this beautiful and polished puzzle platformer to get past baddies, lasers, ice, and much, much more.

North Wind: Trill of Consciousness North Wind: Trill of Consciousness by Henry Gosuen is a creative take on the platform exploration genre. You control the tiny hero named Dir who moves through a blocky world of spikes and obstacles and maze-like puzzles. Instead of scrolling levels that keep pace with the protagonist, though, you do all the swiping yourself from a stationary point of view. It's a bit like Office Rush, Rooms or Continuity, only with a decidedly sweeter metroidvania feel.

Pink Hour (Studio Pixel) There are only two words you need to see before downloading this game: Studio Pixel. The creator of Cave Story has been hard at work on the upcoming sidescrolling platformer Kero Blaster, but in the meantime, we get a free game! Pink Hour serves as a small taster for next month's big release, stuffing plenty of shooting, pixel-perfect jumps, and painfully high level of difficulty into its cute little package.

Please Remain Calm Do you love that old-school feeling of collecting coins? How about navigating precarious platforms and ledges to reach the exit door? Escape various baddies, maze-like environments and an expanding black hole of doom in this energetic and demanding retro platformer.

changeType() If something is in your way, just change it! Nitrome puts a clever twist on the puzzle platform genre as you play a hero who can swap the properties of any two items. Turn dangerous spikes into soft clouds, or impassable bricks into collectible coins to boost your score!

Earth Taken 2 In Earth Taken 2, an action platformer by SeethingSwarm, you are a survivor, trying desperately to shoot through the hordes of aliens who've turned the world toxic. So a lot like the first Earth Taken, then. Jocularity aside, though, while there's a lot that's the same, gameplay has also been refined, making this the sci-fi horror game the original could and should have been.

Labyrinth: Secrets of ShadowHaven Help a cute, scampering demon-thingy storm the dark castle, crack the magic orbs, defeat devilish bosses, restore sunlight to the land, and score some sweet upgrades in Labyrinth: Secrets of ShadowHaven, a roguelike platformer by Nick Pasto and Luis Castanon. The only real goal may be a high score, but the game's innate humor and likability sees it through

Bionic Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla What happens when the team behind Abobo's Big Adventure makes a new game? An old school action arcade game built around mad scientistry, gorillas, pogo sticks, and chainsaws is born! Bionic Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla stars a once-happy gorilla who was kidnapped by an evil corporation and subjected to harsh experiments. Naturally, that involved hacking off his limbs, replacing his legs with a pogo stick and his arms with chainsaws. Now that the gorilla has escaped, you get to guide him to freedom!

Glean 2 Improving its UI and crafting system while adding new worlds and creatures to contend with, this sequel to 2012's hit Motherload-esque mining simulation takes you to all new alien planets as you control a lost robot scrounging for supplies to repair and upgrade himself in a wide variety of ways.

OUTt Two creatures find themselves trapped and separated below ground following a cave in, and must use some unique abilities, plus good old fashioned reflexes, to avoid the mechanical monstrosities and reunite. Mike Inel's puzzle platformer might be a bit slow for its focus on running and jumping, but throw in some clever mechanics and a gorgeous presentation, and you have a charmer that will reward the patient.

The Labyrinth of Keys Calling it "The Labyrinth of Keys" is a bit of a misnomer. Perhaps it would better be called "The Labyrinth of One Key". After all, you only get one key, and you've got to use it wisely if you want to have any hope of escaping in Matthew Rodriguez's action-puzzle-platformer game of the same name.

Pandesal Boy A bread delivery goes wrong when you accidentally upset a cosmic beast that curses you and the world into bizarre upheaval! Rotate, blast, split, and puzzle your way through this creative and challenging platformer!

Above Average Guy Watching TV is for suckers. Participating is where it's at, especially when it's a lethal live TV gameshow filled with some of the strangest challenges around. Though a better puzzle game than a platformer, Above Average Guy still has clever ideas and style to burn.

Cat Ninja You've got more than nine lives and you're going to need them in this punishing platformer. Use jet-packs, teleporters, gravity switches and much, much more to overcome fiendish and deadly hazards in your journey to save the world. I think you can do it, even if the narrator is... less than encouraging.

Pixel Escape Help the pixels escape the advancing glitch-wall of doom in Pixel Escape, a run-and-jump platform game by Jonny and Eugene. Pixel Escape can be a little overwhelming to the senses, but it'll be hard to stop playing till you've gotten every one of those darn things to safety.

Zombinsanity Good news: you now have the entire space station to yourself. Bad news: that's only if you don't count an endless supply of zombies. Jimp and Jay Armstrong serve up a fun and chaotic, if repetitive, zombie arena shooter with a fantastic design.

Go Repo In the Podge's latest game, you control an eclectic strong-arm repo crew sent to recover valuable items from some people who really, really don't want you to. Use each character's special strengths and abilities to retrieve the most valuable items to reach your goals before time runs out!

I Quit! Must Dash! Tender your resignation and escape you office filled with mustache-hating aliens in I Quit! Must Dash!, a one-button retro platformer by Casino Jack. The gameplay might be a little familiar to those who've played its one button brethren, but overall it is a well-designed, tough-but-fair challenge with a host of neat unlockables.

Blade Rush Part stealth game, part challenging platformer, Blade Rush's minimalist style masks a surprisingly fun and fast-paced game that forces you to keep moving as you zip around lethal stages taking out foes in one hit... before they do the same to you!

Alien Splatter Aliens have invaded Earth! You are the only one who can stop them! So you'd better go stop them! A nostalgic retro run-and-gun platform shooter by Sinclair Strange that hearkens to the 8-bit era, Alien Splatter may not entirely live up to the challenge of NES classics like Contra and Ninja Gaiden, but it's a pixelated good time.

Risk of Rain In most roguelikes, grinding levels is the answer, but in Hopoo Games' brutally difficult action game, the longer you wait, the harder things get. When your cargo ship crashes on a hostile alien planet, you're left with no choice but to fight your way through the local wildlife and massive monsters, unlocking new characters and items along the way, if you want to survive.

Once Upon a Life Though it starts off slow, this platforming puzzle is full of surprises and unexpectedly touching to boot, as you play a jetpack-toting old man gathering up photographic memories of his past and going on one last grand adventure.

Valdis Story: Abyssal City In this fast-paced stunning metroidvania indie action adventure, the fight against a demonic army takes you beneath the waves when your ship is sunk and you find yourself in a mysterious underwater world caught between two opposing forces. Though somewhat hard to pick up and not without its flaws, it's still an engaging, gorgeous combat-centric game fans of the genre should check out.

Lumen Blink and you'll miss it, but this painfully short action adventure game by a talented indie studio is still worth checking out. Play as a young girl who wakes up in a surreal nightmare realm and must rely only on a strange voice, and a magical camera that can manipulate reality, to see her through to the end.

Acid Bunny: Episode 2 Seething Swarm's darkly adorable and adorably dark hallucination afflicted lapine protagonist is back for more platforming action in Acid Bunny: Episode 2. Though admittedly, it's incredibly similar to the previous installment, that just means the slightly-offensive fun can continue unabated. Please be aware that this game contains material some might find disturbing, including drug use and suicide.

Test Subject Arena 2 In Nitrome's latest release in the Test Subject series, Test Subject Arena 2 offers everything the first installment had and more! More characters to choose from (including the funny looking black storm trooper looking guards) and more options to play the game! If single player is more your style, there are levels of target shooting. And if you have more friends than games to play with them, up to four can hover around your computer to battle it out. Challenge them for a roaring good time!

Red Ball 4 Volume 3 Though short, this latest installment in the physics platformer series is just as enjoyable as the rest, with many new elements like lasers and bombs to go along with its new industrial setting.

Zombotron 2: Time Machine Zombotron is back! When your ship off this zombie-ridden world still lacks fuel, you set out to find some. Unfortunately for you, it's never that simple. With more elaborate levels and all the explosive physics action you've come to expect, this latest Zombotron installment is just as weird and wonderfully addictive as ever.

Spud's Quest Isn't it about time you had a good old fashioned quest? Spud's Quest by Chris Davis is a retro-styled platform adventure that draws inspiration from classic games such as The Legend of Zelda and the Dizzy series. It takes place in a fantasy world complete with items to find that unlock new areas, a sprawling map with non-linear pathways, and plenty of characters to interact with. A metroidvania, if you will, and a frightfully good one at that!

Earth Taken Earth Taken is an action platformer by SeethingSwarm that casts you as the desperate measures that the desperate needs of an alien menace require. It's a mishmash of run-and-gun and survival horror tropes, but an entertaining one, with some very cool (and toxic looking) environmental design.

I Am Level I Am Level is a one button arcade platform game from Smiling Bag. It does away with most control buttons and gives you a rolling character you influence by tilting your mobile device left and right. Tap the screen to activate all of the screen's mechanisms, shooting springboards up, shifting platforms around, or knocking pinball-style flippers in the air. Through a creative combination of luck and skill, it's your job to explore the delightfully unconventional pathways that wind their way in and out of the game's challenging stages.

Cathode Raybots Fight the Cathode Raybots, or join their cause in this over-the-top action shooter by Tom Fulp and the Newgrounds crew. Overwhelming surface flashiness hides an excellent boss-battle creation engine, that those in the community have used to great cleverness.

Oodlegobs Do you hate cat videos and think nobody should be allowed to enjoy them? Of course not, you're not a sociopath. But some Scrooge in Nitrome's latest puzzle platformer does, and as a result, you're manning a virus made up of hundreds of chompy worms to take down Mew Tube and ensure nobody ever enjoys cat videos ever again.

Nelly 2: Ep.1 Nelly 2: Ep.1 is the first installment in the sequel to Black Square Studios' original macabre puzzle platform adventure game, and it will make you go "Huh?" and "Zhuh?!" but also "Oooh" and "Ahh". Little Nelly lives all alone in the deep dark forest, where peril literally waits at every turn. But when she goes out one night, she discovers a friend, and some new abilities, that may take her places she never imagined.

Pause Ahead Normally when you pause a game, everything stops, but in this hard as nails platformer, your momentum is preserved, allowing you to soar through hazards and over great distances... which does NOT make it any easier. A beautiful looking, beautiful sounding game that will pound the snot out of you at any given opportunity, and for some people, that's exactly what they're looking for.

Once In The Cave Once in the cave, there was a cliff, a fire, and some shadow puppets... oh, wait. Wrong cave. Once in the cave, there was a wizard searching for the evil wizard in AnienaGames' new platformer. Earn achievements, unlock skills, and experiment to find the best way to defeat your enemies.

It combines elements of platforming with a swinging mechanic, challenging you to race through several dozen levels as you attempt to best your previous times while collecting coins scattered across the stage. Even though it's an action game on a device that lacks physical buttons, you'll find Mikey Hooks plays smoothly without a hint of frustration.

Kid Tripp Kid Tripp is an auto-running retro-style platform game created by Not Done Yet Games. It borrows some gameplay elements from the endless running genre, though really it's more of an old fashioned action game you might have found on the NES or Sega Genesis. It's simple, it's extremely challenging, and it's filled with chunky pixel artwork that perfectly defines the game's quirky sense of humor.

Transmorpher 2 Transmorpher 2 is a great action-puzzle platformer hybrid in which you control four aliens, each with different abilities. In twenty-two levels you will encounter a large number of things especially designed to kill you, from lasers to acid puddles to hostile creatures, and you'll have to use brain as well as brawn to negotiate cleverly designed stages and reach the end.

You Still Won't Make It You Still Won't Make It is a high difficulty action game from Vetra Games. It's name and form with this platformer, as each time you start a stage you know you probably won't make it to the exit. Even if you do, it won't be without splattering your insides over a precisely-placed spike trap. With level design by Karoshi veteran Jesse Venbrux, You Still Won't Make It is the kind of indie game you're going to hate while you fall in love with it.

Super Mario Bros. Crossover 3.0 Now in its third major release, this platformer allows you to play as everyone from better-than-Boba-Fett bounty huntress Samus Aran to Mega Man 10's Bass, all with their iconic abilities intact, tearing up the classic Super Mario Bros. levels you know and love. Dismissing this as just a simple knock-off is doing it a disservice, and this latest update cements its position as one of the crown jewels in the fan creation crown.

Acid Bunny Acid Bunny is an action-platformer that revels in offensiveness, almost as if its ashamed of the adorable heart beating underneath. Certainly, one can't tell tell the story of a cute lil' bunny with a tendency for acid flashbacks without getting a little dark, but those who stick through the aggressively bleak humor of the opening will find an engaging open-world to explore. Please be aware that this game contains material many would find offensive, including drug use and suicide.

Dusty Revenge Dusty is out for revenge. You can tell because it says so right in the title! Dusty Revenge is a wild west-themed action game from PD Design Studio that effortlessly blends a sidescrolling brawler (think Castle Crashers) with a simple platform game, turning the whole genre mix on its head by dumping in a lot of guns and artwork that would make even Shank blush. It can be a bit over the top on occasion with its cheesy story and quick combat tactics, but the overall tone keeps you interested in beating up enemies until your lengthy bunny ears are soaked in blood.

The Ruins of Machi Itcza A retro metroidvania platformer by MNWS, The Ruins of Machi Itcza will have you feeling like Pitfall Harry. The purely exploration gameplay is tempered a bit by slow character movement, but overall, the game captures the archaeological feel of rediscovering something ancient and mysterious.

Treasure Bear A bear falls asleep in a fruit crate and finds himself in a dungeon in Slime Prince's castle. The bear teams up with a treasure chest and they go on a slime-destroying, treasure-hunting adventure. If that's not bizarre enough, wait till you see them bouncing off a huge pig roast amidst a pile of broken plates.

Rogue Legacy Cellar Door Games delivers a challenging roguelike mixed with brutal platforming action in this indie game. Take on an ever-changing castle filled with peril and challenges, and when you're inevitably struck down, your children will take up the cause... and your children might be more than a little unique. Featuring upgradeable classes and powers, equipment, runes, and even traits ranging from simple color-blindness to dwarfism, this is one game that offers both a challenge and a unique look at the ideas of heroism and "disability".

Comic Book Cody When Cody's comic book collection is stolen by a gang of thieves, he sets out to get it back and discovers that gathering them unlocks super powers of his own! Despite some unimaginative level design and repetition, this platformer offers a great premise and a ton of personality that make it an easy choice for younger gamers-in-training!

King's Ascent King's Ascent is a vertical-scrolling action platform game that shows life on the throne is always uncertain, especially when giant skeleton beasts are chasing you up the tower. Gameplay is generally familiar, but the plotting has a deconstructive edge that should separate it from the pack.

Rocket Pets Rocket Pets isn't quite a launch game. And it isn't quite a platformer. Somehow, Jay Armstrong and Jimp have combined the two genres, added some cute fuzzy animals wearing jetpacks, and thrown in some spikes for good measure, and the result is a ridiculously cute game where you go around collecting coins, buying upgrades, and earning achievements.

I Hate Candy How could anyone possibly hate candy? Red Ball 4 Volume 2 Red Ball 4 is back with the second volume of physics-based fun! Roll and jump your way through fifteen new levels and eliminate your enemies as you try to protect the planet from being taken over by sinister black blocks. Let the bouncing begin!

Persist In the platformer created by Ludum Dare veteran, Jussi Simpanen, for their 26th competition, the theme of minimalism was embraced in both graphics and gameplay. But don't let that fool you into thinking the story runs the same way. Having committed a horrible act, you must platform your way through dangerous levels to beg forgiveness and prove your worth of it. The fine melding of story and level design will have you invested in the character by the mysterious ending.

Test Subject Complete The latest installment in the "Test Subject" puzzle platformer series is out, and it's just what you'd expect from a Nitrome game. Test Subject Complete manages to iron out many of the wrinkles from the series' previous installments so that the challenge comes from trying to escape Dr. Nastidious' lab and save the world instead of from trying to make pixel-perfect jumps.

Fez What would you do if you found out there was more to your world? Like... a LOT more? And then you had to save it? That's what happens to Gomez, a little 2D creature who finds out his world isn't 2D as he always thought, and thanks to a mystical hat unlocks a power that will allow him to see every hidden side of it... something he'll need since he needs to track down fragments of a mystical cube before the world destroys itself! A stunning exploration-based platforming indie adventure that will bring out the wonder in you.

They Need to Be Fed 2 From Jesse Venbrux, whose name you might recognize from games like the Karoshi series or Focus, They Need to Be Fed 2 is a mobile sequel to a freeware downloadable game that's all about feeding helpless critters to chomping piranha plants. Neat, right? Don't worry, it's not all sad and evil. In fact, it's quite a cheerful mix of puzzle and platforming elements that works really well on touch screen devices.

The Naked Alien The Naked Alien is an action platformer by Lucas Paakh that offers players a quirky encounter of the nude kind, as its titular being sets out to map uncharted territory. It's a little by-the-numbers, but The Naked Alien is strangely amusing, and definitely showcases the developers prodigious artistic talents.

Papo & Yo While hiding in a closet for a beast that's after him, young Quico tumbles through a mysterious portal into another world where he finds himself befriending a towering, fanged beast named Monster. But though Monster seems gentle and lovable enough to his tiny companion, a dangerous addiction turns him into a mindless, rampaging threat to everything around him, and only Quico can save him... or so he hopes. A painfully beautiful indie platforming adventure with heart.

Goatup 2 What's the crucial element missing from most games nowadays? If you answered anything other than "goats," you're wrong! Jumping goats make anything better, and that's been proven. By science. Released by Llamasoft, Goatup 2 is the goatiest retro platformer you ever did see. A follow-up to the endless jumper Goatup, this sequel is slightly more traditional gameplay experience, if your idea of tradition involves minotaurs in rainbow sweaters, the Queen of England and angry toilets.

Barbarium Barbarium, created by Hypnohustler, is a retro action platformer set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With your sword and lasergun combo (really, the best combo there is) you set off to rescue babes, drink beer and restore a little order to this crazy world.

Bobbing Bobbing is a fast-paced, finger-twitching, reflex-hounding action platformer from Little Bobby Games. You play as a little eskimo creature whose only ambition in life is to run endlessly through a circular labyrinth filled with twists, traps and lots and lots of fire.

Give Up Give Up is a high-difficulty action-platformer by jmtb02 and Tasselfoot, that, little by little, will try to drive you to surrender, though a quite entertaining one. Give Up should appeal most to that strain of gamer who loves the thrill of balancing hundreds of failures against the thrill of a sudden success, but its humor should make everyone want to give it a try.

Monster Meltdown As the saying goes, there's no use crying over spilled milk. Or in Yuri's case, a toppled bucket of water that has unleashed monsters that inhabit the lab where he works. The only real option available in Monster Meltdown, a new puzzle platform game from Ambient Studios, is to put on a spiffy suit that will allow him to teleport around the lab and find those creatures as quickly as possible.

Spunk and Moxie Spunk and Moxie is a one touch platform game by Tilt Studios that relies on split-second timing and perfect reactions. It's a game of extremely high difficulty and no room for error, as the slightest little mishap will send you back to the beginning of the stage. That may not sound like a terrible punishment, but Spunk and Moxie is about high scores and unlockables, not raw level progression, so anything less than a perfect run is just not satisfactory.

Counter Terror Moonloop's gleefully goofy retro shooter signs you up to become part of a counter-terror squad off to stop a mad scientist. Rescue hostages and blast baddies the only fashioned way by simply charging in guns blazing, or go the strategic route and make use of cover, flashbangs, ropes, and more to get the drop on your enemies and save the day as smoothly as possible.

Ode to Pixel Days Coming out of your shell can be hard, so wouldn't it be nice if everyone looked the same? After all, we'd all be happy then, wouldn't we? Talha Kaya delivers a personal puzzle-platformer mixed with an art game to tell the story of a guy, a girl, and figuring out who you are and what matters most is action.

Prism Panic Ready for a challenge? When you accidentally activate a mysterious dark prism that begins warping the land around you, you have to track down each piece and deactivate it. Easier said than done since the prism's influence has sent out shifting pools of blackness that turns friendly flora, fauna, and even the land itself deadly. A challenging, stylish platformer from Connor Ullmann and Noel Berry.

Bearbarians Don't get too close to these teddy bears... they're less about being cuddly-wuddly and more about wreaking bloody vengeance. Lead, outfit and train a squad of lethal furry killing machines in team deathmatches in order to get revenge for the sacking of your village. A fun if frantic and more than a little chaotic action-packed platforming experience.

Feast or Famine Back in the olden days the life of our earliest ancestors was one of struggle and strife. Vegans and pescetarians hadn't found their chance to emerge yet and instead life was sustained through the efforts of hunters and gatherers. In Feast or Famine, a brilliant new action platform game by X4 Games, you will play the role of the hunter chasing after birds and bison while dodging an assortment of cranky creatures and environmental hazards. Shown through art inspired by caveman paintings this game is good enough for caveman and a throwback treat for us modern folk.

Fae Can you handle the demand for split-second timing and reflexes while constantly being vaporized? If so, this challenging yet simple little stylish platformer is calling out for you to conquer it as you run, leap, and dodge across a cityscape full of hazards and portals.

Subbania This sub mission was a fiasco from the start, but if you could have said no to your Nazi commanders you wouldn't be spending December 1941 in the depths of the Atlantic. And there are... things out there. Subbania is a metroidvania-style action-adventure by ektomarch, where cosmic horrors lurk in the depths. Quite unsettling and atmospheric, if a little stingy on save points.

The Cave (DoubleFine) What's inside the Cave, DoubleFine's latest platforming puzzle adventure? For seven very unusual and very different heroes, that answer is quite personal indeed. But no matter which three you set off to solve the mysteries of the depths with, you can be sure you'll encounter hilarity, challenging puzzles, memorable characters, stunning visuals, and more than a few secrets of the bizarre and personal sort.

Wilt: Last Blossom A lovingly detailed homage to classic platforming adventures, this retro-styled Metroidvania game takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where your only reason for living is suddenly abducted from you by a mysterious stranger. While it could use some more to do, it's a beautifully made title fans of classic gaming will enjoy.

Oh Snow! A platform game that presents a world where the Yeti spends his days outrunning an angry anthropomorphic snowball. One of the few platform games where action and puzzle elements are split right down the middle, Oh Snow can be occasionally frustrating, but always fun.
